Searching for information on 4th and 5th great-grandfathers. Samuel SULLIVAN/ SULLIVANT and son James. I have James in Russell Co. VA census listed as being born in Franklin Co. VA, his wife Elizabeth ? - born in Ashe Co. NC. James would be born around 1796, Samuel may have died in early 1818.

RADFORD, THOMPSON -
Researching John THOMPSON was b. abt 1816 in I think Pittsylvania Co.. He resided in Franklin Co and m. 12/24/1836 Nancy RADFORD in Franklin Co. He died Endicott, Franklin Co, VA 11/25/1896? Death record says born Pittsylvania. Some of their children may have been in Floyd. I know some grandchildren were...Children: Peter, William, Joshua, Elizabeth, John, Emeline, Nathaniel, Frances and Nancy. Any clues welcomed. Will exchange information.

BELCHER, MITCHELL -
Seeking info concerning identity of mother of William BELCHER. Wm. b. ca.1828 Franklin Co. m. March 1853 to Lucinda BELCHER. Wm's father was Isham BELCHER. Isham's Franklin Co will of 1857 lists Wm. among Isham's ten children. In 1810 Franklin Co Census Isham is listed in household with one other male. By 1820 Census an adult female and 4 children have been added to household. I have searched marriage records for the 1810-1820 period in Franklin, Patrick, Henry, Bedford and Amelia without success. In 1836 Isham married Martha MITCHELL, but I feel Martha is a second wife. Any information or suggestions for additional search would be greatly appreciated.

Joseph HOLLY m. Frances HANCOCK, dgt of Sabrah, Wm. Hinson as surety 25 Aug 1840, Franklin co. VA. I believe this to be my HOLLEY line; however Joseph's wife should be Fanny JAMES. Sarah JAMES is found to be living in hh of Joseph & Fanny in 1850, 1860 & 1870 census', Monroe & Metcalf cos. Ky. and is listed as Sarah JAMES, b. anywhere from 1782 to 1790. Have studied Wingfield's Marr. Bonds of Franklin co. VA. A Reuben JAMES, son Faney HANCOCK, m Jane SMITH 10 Nov. 1828; there is also a m. of Peter D. HOLLAND & Franky HANCOCK, 26 Jan 1807. Has anyone done research on the HANCOCK family in Franklin co., or HOLLEY or JAMES? Vital records prove Joseph/Fanny lis Franklin co. 1842; Lee co. VA 1846; 1849 Monroe co. KY; by 1880 they were in Green co. KY. Thanks,
