I am looking for information on Elijah CAMPBELL born abt. 1786 in Franklin Co., VA, married March 18, 1819 in Franklin to Miss. Cynthia/ Cynth/ Syntha/ Prudence BARTON (we have found her name several different ways). I am looking for a possible prior marriage for either of them because one year after their marriage in 1819, the 1820 census shows them in Franklin with three children. Looking for information on these three children and if they were children of previous marriages or adopted in some way. We do know of several children of Elijah & Cynth: William J. (married Isabelle WHITE in Franklin), Julia Ann; Sarah; John; Andrew Jackson; Elijah W. Jr., and Joel B. CAMPBELL. This family shows up in the 1850 Franklin Co., VA census. They then migrated to Kanawha/Roane Co., VA now WV in the 1850s. Looking for information on what happened to the son John CAMPBELL. He does not show up on Kanawha/Roane census records with the rest of the family in 1860. We are also looking for information on a John D. CAMPBELL who married Judith HODGES in Franklin Co., VA in 1843 and also migrated to Kanawha/Roane at the same time the Elijah CAMPBELL family did. Trying to make the connection between John D. CAMPBELL and Elijah CAMPBELL. Could this John D. CAMPBELL be Elijah's missing son named John refered to above? If so, the 1850 Franklin Co., VA census is incorrect showing John living at home in 1850. Any information on this is greatly appreciated.

My great grandparents were Covey Beckner and Tricia or Theresa Greenwood. They had 8 children I believe. Their daughter Mabel (my grandmother), married James Wilmer Shilling. I was wondering if there are any Beckners, Greenwoods, or Shillings still living in Boones Mill? Thank you.

I'm looking for information on the area in Bedford Co. which became Franklin Co. There are two John Smiths listed in tax records in 1782-1785 then only one and none after 1791. My relative was having children until 1800 and I thought it was Bedford Co. One tax record refers to one John Smith as "pocket". I believe this area is the part that became Franklin Co. Does anyone know the dividing line and is anyone looking for a John Smith who's oldest son James H. Smith moved to Tennessee and raised his family outside Nashville in an area he named Pasquo. Thanks in advance

Deed Book 4, page 315 indenture between James Burns and Jonathan Davis in 1801 relates to a boundary mark or line as opposite the John Burns Plantation. I would gladly pay some one to find the deed to the John Burns Plantation on the Blackwater River and mail it to me. I have no idea when John Burns acquired the property but that date is a vital key to my research on the Burns Family
