DUDLEY, PASLEY -
Would like to compare notes with someone working on Gwin Dudley
families to clarify his children and their families. Am especially interested
in sons, Thomas DUDLEY and James DUDLEY. My maternal grandparents
were both Dudleys and I believe these men were their respective
ggg-grandparents. Have limited information but am willing to share. Gwin
Dudley moved from Lunenberg County, Va. to Bedford County, Va. ca
1779. I do not know where or when he was born. (Someone can help with that
too!!) He built a home near Kemp's Ford, Franklin County, chimney inscribed
"GD 1795". I think the part of Bedford County he settled in was the part
that became part of Franklin County when Franklin was established. He married
Mary Pasley in Franklin County 17 Aug 1797.

REED -
I am seeking any and all info on the ancestors of Andrew (M?) REED
(c1795 - c1845) who lived and died in present-day Floyd Co., VA. He apparently
married a woman by the name of Elizabeth (surname unknown) and his (male)
children were Michael M. (c1831 - 1912), Fleming (c1836 - 1864; died of
pneumonia in a Civil War P.O.W. Camp), John M. (c1839 - c 1910), my direct
ancestor, and Andrew Michael Reed (c1842 - ?). I do know that there's
a record of him selling a portion of his 100-ac tract along Beaver Creek
in Floyd Co. In 1837 and this leads me to believe that he's related to
the "Reed Family Patriarch" in Floyd Co., George Reed, Sr. (1730
-1807), Who purportedly moved to this area from Franklin Co. circa 1780.
I don' t think, however, that Andrew's "directly" related to George unless
its through George's son Michael (bc 1760) on whom I can find no information
at all, other than an 1810 VA census record placing him in Rockbridge Co.,
VA. Any info on the ancestors of Andrew Reed (c1795 - c1845), or
George
Reed's son Michael would be appreciated. P.S. The Andrew
Reed I'm looking for is not Andrew A. Reed, the Floyd Co.
Minister (c1809-c1880).
