Does anyone know who the parents of William C. BOOTH and Mary LONG were? William & Mary

BIRD, HUNT -
I am descended from Thomas Hunt who settled in Bedford Co. around the time of it's creation. He was
the father of Stephen Hunt, born around 1740s or 1750s, who married a Mary Elizebeth unknown. Stephen
had a son Stephen Hunt Jr. who married Catherine Bird in 1805 in Bedford Co. Va. These
Hunts ended up in Franklin Co. after it's creation in 1783. Thomas Hunt died in Franklin Co. in about
1800 or so. His estate appraisal dated 1801 listed his son Stephen Hunt as administrator. I would like to
find out what I can on Thomas Hunt. Supposedly, he was father of 14 and may have been married twice.
Once to an Ann unknown and I found a miscellaneous record for Stephen Hunt of Bedford Co. listing his
parents as Thomas Hunt and Martha from 1756. Can anyone help me with this mystery man?

MCGHEE, OAKES -
I am trying to find out where Mary Ann McGhee is buried or the date she died. I'm guess the time
frame from 1902-1910. She was not listed in the 1910 census with her husband, he was listed as widow. I'm
trying to join the United Daughters of the Confederacy and need this information on her. Mary's husband was
William Preston Oakes in the Civil War. I know she is the daughter of Martin and Sarah
McGhee. Mary Ann was born abt. 1837 in Franklin and married in Franklin County 1/10/1812. She and
Preston lived in Pennsylvania County, where I'm not sure. If you have any light to shed on this I really
would appreciate it. Thanks.

BROWER, FISHER, FLORIN, NAFE, NAFF, NEFF -
There seems to be some controversy over the parentage of Susanna Naff. I have John Boitnott's book,
"Naff and Related Families, Swiss Ancestors of Naffs and Neff's in the USA...". In this
publication, on page, 25, he states that Susanna Nafe (Naff), b. circa 1765 in PA, was the
daughter of Jacob Nafe (Naff) and Katherina (aka Eva Catherine) Florin Naff. On
page 28, John Boitnott states that Susanna Naff married in Franklin County, VA, on
10-Nov-1824, Jonathan Fisher. He gives as his source for the marriage, "Pioneer Families of
Franklin County, Virginia," page 165, and "Marriage Bonds of Franklin County," no page
number. Both books are by Marshall Wingfield. Some sources say John Boitnott was mistaken about the
parentage of Susanna Nafe (Naff) who married Jonathan Fisher. They contend that the
Susanna born to Jacob and Katherina Nafe (Naff) did not marry Jonathan Fisher. They
further state that the Susannah Nafe (Naff) that married Jonathan Fisher was the child
of David Naff (also a child of Jacob Naff & Katherina Florin) and Magdalena
Brower Naff. It is further contented that David and Magdalena had a daughter named Susannah
who married Jonathan Fisher. They further state that John Boitnott did not list Susanna who
married Jonathan Fisher as a daughter of David because he put her in Jacob's family, and that she is
the oldest daughter of David Naff (Neff) and Magdalena Brower. This would mean that if
Jacob Nafe (Naff) had a daughter named Susanna who married Jonathan Fisher at about age
59, or that she did not marry Jonathan Fisher and was the aunt of Susannah, child of her brother,
David Naff (Neff) who married Magdalena Brower; or that Jacob Naff actually had
no daughter named Susanna. Does anyone have any documentation regarding a Susanna (Susannah) Nafe
(Naff/ Neff) born to David Naff (Neff) and Magdalena Brower? Thank you so
much for your help.
