STEWART, STUART -
Looking for info on the James STEWART (STUART) family who were in Franklin County Virginia and also in Morgan County Tenn... For I know that they were there but I know nothing more than that. I am actually looking for the rest of my direct line of STEWARTs for I know that I am related to Barnabas STEWART (STUART) who was also in Morgan in 1830.. Along with William, John and James and James, Jr. And according to the Stewart Clan Magazine that the James in Morgan was also associated with Franklin Co., VA.... But as far as they are related to my Barnabs it's a shot into the unknown Brick wall???? If you follow my line hope they are my folk's???? So If This Ding's Any Bell's please Let me hear from you real soon. Also the Virgil A. STEWART who was the son of Samuel STEWART who helped Capture The Great Bandit John Murrill is suposed to be related to my Barnbas some type of way..?? Thank You, Terry STEWART, Freindswood, Tx.

LATANE, LE_TENE, TEANEY, TENE, THUNY, TURNEY -
Looking for a Turney family who are supposed to have left Franklin Co Va ca 1806 and moved to Smith County Tennessee. I have found a Teaney family which was originally Le_Tene in Switzerland with one member Lewis Heinrich Jr 1716-1769 in Lunenburg Co VA - which part of Franklin came out of. His brother in Essex Co Va spelled the name in 1733 as Latane. I wonder if the Turney came from this Tene/Teaney family. The Turney family in Switzerland was Thuny with the y having an a sound. I will take anything close.

SAUNDERS, TURNBULL, WADE -
Posie Everette Saunders was b. May 8, 1889 in Ferrum, VA., he was the youngest of 14 children. His father was David (Dave) Saunders and his mother possibly named (?) Turnbull. He married Bettie Ann Wade who was from Franklin or Henry Co., she was b. April 18, 1891, parents unknown. She was raised by an uncle, Jack Wade, who had a brother named Frank Wade. Posie and Bettie m. Aug. 14, 1913 and had a son, Clyde Harrison Saunders on Aug. 28, 1914 in Ferrum, VA. It is said that prior to their marriage Posie had 50 acreas of land in Ferrum, at some time he sold all but one acre that held a cemetery or was near a cemetery. Bettie d. June 13, 1945 and was brought by train and then ambulance to be buried in this cemetery. These were my grandparents and I'd appreciate any additional info on them. Who were Posie's syblings? Who were Bettie's parents? Bettie is rumored to have had an uncle, Sam Wade, whom a hospital wing in Rockymount was named after. Thanks for any help in my quest to learn more about my family.
