Seeking info on Francis QUARLES, an American Revolution soldier, who was living
in Goochland Co, VA during the time of the war. I have his war papers which does
not give a wife's name or much of anything else, but that he was at the seige of
Yorktown. He continues to move to Cumberland Co and Wythe Co before moving to
Knox Co, TN, where he died in 1832. He is receiving a pension in Knox Co, TN and
it is going to someone who's last name is KENNEDY. I know this is not a lot to
go on but this is all I have after 17 years of searching.

He was born about 1725 according to a marriage document of 1800 where he was
shown as age 75 marrying Miss Jane BURTON, age 17, of Louisa Co, VA. Prior to
his marriage to Jane, he had several ch, whether from one marriage or more. The
names of these ch were: Elverton, George, James, Peyton, Elizabeth, Ann, Mary F.
and Lewis F. The ch from his marriage to Jane Burton were: Ann, Sarah, William
Samuel (my line) and Thomas Burton (born 6 weeks after William's death). Would
appreciate any additional information on this fam.

Ann RIDGEWAY, m2 Lydia JONES. Drury's oldest dau was Winnifred MIMS, b 1760 or
1770. Some say Lydia JONES was Winnifred's mother and that Lydia married Drury
in Goochland before moving to SC. Other say Ann RIDGEWAY bore Winnifred before
she died, and that Drury m Lydia in NC on his way to SC. Still others think
Elizabeth WOODSON was Winnifred's mother. Since Winnifred is my 4g-gmo, I would
really appreciate it if someone could shed some definitive light on this
problem. Some birth record of Winnifred would help.
