I am looking for information on Martin Davenport, b c 1683 in New Kent County. d. 4 May 1735, will probated in Essex County. I believe he is the son of David or Davis Davenport of New Kent. Martin married Dorothy Harralson c1710. I am trying to find out if/how she might be related to Peter or Paul Harralson of New Kent County. Any information on their origins would be appreicated. My mother, maiden name James, of Church Road, Dinwiddie Co., VA. Her mother was a Ford of Church Road area where many Fords still live and are buried at Trinity United Methodist Church (Church Road.) There are also many Fords in Dinwiddie and Amelia Co. My mother's father was a James who had roots in Hanover Co. He and my mother are buried at Sunset Cemetery in Chester, VA....Alfred James/Frances Lee James Davis. Her grandfather, also Alfred James, is buried in Chesterfield Co in a small family cemetery near Rt. 10 and I-295 (recently discovered by me.) I would like to share what info I have and get more on the Hanover/Caroline Co. JAMES family. I have some evidence that the James' also resided in Ashland and even Petersburg areas as well. A great uncle is buried near off of Rt. 1 near the Halfway House near Chester. I have also recently found James relatives in TEXAS where it appears that 100+ years ago, brothers went to Texas and others stayed in the greater Richmond/Petersburg/Ashland areas. Please contact me. Looking for Waller in VA., and any papers of Ann Waller Reddy, Richmond, VA genealogy researcher in 1949. Col. John Waller came to New Kent Co. in 1695, married to Dorothy King, daughter and 5 sons. Youngest son, Benjamin, had a son named John who m. Judith Page of Hanover, and another son Benjamin, who m. Catherine Page of Hanover. Am searching for parents/siblings of David Richardson b. bef. 1789 Va. d. 1830 Henry Co. Ga. In Hanover Co. Chancery Wills and Notes there is an entry for Sarah Hambleton's will. In her will, she names David Richardson son of Ann Richardson (her daughter) as an heir providing that David support his mother during her life. The will was probated in Louisa Co. on 9 Dec. 1816. Who was Ann Hambleton/Richardson's husband? There is an entry showing a Richard Richardson as witness to her purchase of a negro woman named Dinah and her child named Bing. Was Richard Ann's husband? I am looking for the family of Eugenia Stanhope Swift, born 1836. She was the daughter of John Swift, Jr. and Susanna Swift Swift and She lived in Louisa County, Va. She married 1) William T. Hill and 2) his brother, Robert David Hill. This is my great grandmother. Researching the Ashworth and Morefield surnames. Jonathan Ashworth, said to have been listed on 1708-1748 Quit Rent rolls in St. Paul's Parish, Hanover Co. By 1756, he owned land in Lunenburg Co. as a Morefield deed identifies land as adjoining that of Jonathon and one of his sons married Jane, daughter of John Morefield who left will recorded 1751. John Walton, Jr. was born April 01, 1738 and died September 232, 1793. John married Mary Baker, a daughter of Martin Baker about 1757. Mary was born December 5, 1739.
