Indenture Deed between Samuel and Abigail Garrett and Robert
Braden
found in Loudoun Co., Virginia Deed Book 2K, pg. 334-335 dated
4 February 1809

This Indenture made This fourth day of February one Thousand Eight
hundred and nine Between Samuel Garret [sic] and Abigail his wife
of Loudoun County and commonwealth of Virginia of the one part
and Robert Braden of the county and commonwealth aforesaid [sic]
of the other part
Witnesseth, that the said Samuel Garrett and Abigail his wife
for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and Sixty dollars
Lawful Money of the united State to them in had paid by the said
Robert Braden the Rect. whereof they the said Samuel Garrett and
Abigal [sic] his wife doth hereby acknowledge Hath Granted Bargained
and Sold and by these presents doth Grant bargain and sell unto
the said Robert Braden his heirs and assigns a certain lot or
parcel of land Situate lying and being in the county of Loudoun
and being part of his wifes Abigals [sic] Legacy which
was lately laid of and allotted to her by commissioners appointed
by an order of Loudoun County Court - and Bounded as followeth
Viz.
Beginning at several small hickories in a line at the patent
and near a drain thence N88 1/2 E 41 poles to a small hickory
near the Junction of two drains thence N 4 E 37 pl to a stone
and some marked hickory thence S 88 1/2 W 45 poles to a stone
and hickory bush in the line of the patent thence S4 E37 poles
to the Beginning Containing ten acres of Land Together with all
and Singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise
appertaining To have and to hold the said Lot of land with its
appurtenances unto the said Robert Braden his heirs and assigns
forever to their only use and behoof and the said Samuel Garrett
and Abigail his wife for themselves their heirs Executors and
administrators doth hereby covenant and agree to warrant and defend
all and Singular the premises hereby Granted and Conveyed unto
the said Robert Braden his heirs and assigns forever free from
the claim of them the said Samuel Garrett and Abigal [sic] his
wife their Heirs Executors and Admrs and from every other
person or persons what ever In Witness whereof the said Samuel
Garrett and Abigal [sic] his wife hath hereunto set their hands
and seals the day and year first written

At a court held for Loudoun county June 12th 1809 This Deed
from Samuel Garrett & Abigal [sic] his wife to Robert Braden was
proved by the oaths of John Braden, & John Cazey two of the witnesses
thereto and at another court held for said county the 14th day
of August in the year aforesaid the same was fully proved by the
oath of Thomas Stevens another Witness thereto and ordered to
be recorded.
