Family Obituaries
HOWARD, Johnny Junior, 66, of Blacksburg, passed away Friday night, March
7, 2003 in the Montgomery Regional Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Emmazetta
Howard, of Blacksburg; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Leonard Cox, of
Riner; also several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be
Monday at 1 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home with Rev. John O'Donnell officiating,
with burial in the Weaver Cemetery. The family will receive
friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home in Floyd.

2002. His father, Hampton H. Cunningham, preceded him in death. Survivors
include his wife, April T. Cunningham, Check; three daughters, Hazel Grace,
Anna Marie and Loretta Dawn Cunningham, Floyd; one son, Joshua Henry
Cunningham, of Check; stepson, Travis Daniel Rector, Willis; mother, Pauline
Jane Dalton, Roanoke; sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Robert Lingelbach, Check; nephew, David Lingelbach;
niece, Nicole Lingelbach. Funeral services will be 11
a.m. Wednesday at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd, with the Rev. Homer
D. Sawyer officiating. Burial will follow in Weaver Cemetery,
Pilot. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Maberry
Funeral Home.

CUNNINGHAM, PEARL VIRGINIA HOWARD, 94, formerly of Pilot, Virginia, died Tuesday, April
23, 2002. She was a dedicated and faithful wife, mother and grandmother. Her
husband, Andrew Wilton Cunningham, a daughter, Eloise Nester, four sons,
Hampton Cunningham, Lewis Cunningham, James Cunningham and Clark Cunningham,
preceded her in death. A son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Virginia
Cunningham of Bassett, Va.; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Esta Martin
of Floyd, Lizzie Marshall of Christiansburg, Viola and Clarence Nolen of
Radford, Virginia and Sherman Haley of Christiansburg, and Marjorie and Willie
Hamblin of Floyd, Va, survive her. Thirty grandchildren, fifty-six
great-grandchildren and twenty-one great great grandchildren also survive her.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2002, at
Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, April
26, 2002, at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Earley
and Rev. Buck Yopp officiating. Interment will follow in the Weaver Cemetery;
