MORAN, OWENS -
I am interested in any connections to Levi Owens who resided in Nelson in the early 1800's and died there. He evidently was not married but had a close friend, Lunsford Loving who was mentioned in his will along with several Owens siblings and a close friend Nelson Moran. Nelson Moran married Mary Owens in Amherst in 1802 just prior to the split into Nelson and Amherst.

I am looking for information on John Fitzgerald b. 1735 in Ireland. I need info on his parents, wives, siblings and children. Specifically a son Richard Thomas b.1774. Any information that can help me sort out the many John Fitzgeralds would be very welcome. John lived in an area of the county that originally was Orange Co. and then changed to Albemarle and then to Amherst and finally to Nelson Co., I think. Least ways he lived in all of those counties and died in Nelson. If I can document John with his parents and with his son, I will have the line back to the year 1000 AD.

I am VERY interested in ANY information that I can get regarding the children of John Chewning and Mary Pugh of Nelson County Virginia. I am a desc. of Granville Washington Chewning b. 1807, and we have been unable to locate his parents. I have a hunch that John and Mary may be his parents. We have run into a dead end with Granville but there seems to be a number of common names in our line and that of James Chewning children (son of John Chewning and Mary Pugh). Granville Washington had children named: John Washington, Catherine E., Ann M., James Madison, Mary Frances, Granville William (Alias Granville Patsy), Elizabeth A., Moses W., Henrietta, Rueben, George and Stephen. Granville's two oldest children were born in VA, the rest in MO. Granville married Mary Ann Hanvey in Frederick County VA. Thank you for any help you can give me.

I am seeking the birth place, dates, and parents of Elizabeth White, who married Emmanuel Essex, and later Frank Gamble. We are aware that Elizabeth lived near the Tye River, in Massie Mills Run Twp, Staunton, Va., and Washington, Pa. We believe she might have been born in the middle or early 1800s. She had either a sister or sister-in-law who lived in Amherst County and another in Nelson County. Although she was a person of color, she was not a slave. Her parents, who are unknown to us, probably were slaves. Any information that we could use for further research would be greatly helpful.

FARRAR, THOMAS -
My great great grandfather, Tucker W. FARRAR, married Susan H. THOMAS in Nelson co., VA on January 19, 1841, at the approximate ages of 26 and 22, respectively. The marriage record shows under Securities, the name of Edwd. Thomas, and To Whom Fee Was Paid, it shows Edward Thomas. Thinking this may be my great great grandmother's father, I have checked the 1850 census and find an Edward Thomas, shown as a Baptist Preacher and age 58, with wife Mary, age 60. The census shows a male, Alsin, age 32 as living with them. There is no record of a Susan. There is another Edward Thomas, also a Baptist preacher, with wife Louisa (and my great grandmother - one generation down - was named Emily Louisa!) and two dgtrs., neither of whom is a Susan. I checked all the Thomas families on the 1850 census in Nelson County but none had a dgtr. named Susan. Does anyone have any info about this family? They were found on the 1860 census in Cooper county, Missouri, showing they were born in VA. I wonder why I can't find them in 1850? I will appreciate any help and will be glad to share what info I have.
