The Newport News-Warwick Historical Preservation Association's goal is to promote public participation in the preservation, interpretation, and documentation of the history of Warwick County and its development into the City of Newport News from 1570 to the present. |

This Association's activities will be to collect and preserve the artifacts and archival materials that demonstrate and record the history of Warwick County and the City of Newport News' development. The Association will help to generate public interest and participation in local history through funds received from membership fees, capital campaigns, grants and other future activities. |

The Association will be active in helping preserve and interpret historical buildings and sites related to the history of Warwick County and the City of Newport News. |

|
Some of the Association's goals are to operate from a historical structure and use this as a center for interpretation of local history; to publish a newsletter and other scholarly materials studying local history and artifacts; and to solicit volunteers to assist with the preservation, education, genealogical, and archaeological projects designed to aid in the interpretation of the local history. |
