The restoration of the Warwick County Courthouse is the current objective of the Newport News-Warwick Historical Preservation Association (NNWHPA).  With the benefit of a special Historic Preservation Grant, the General Assembly and Community Development Block Grant funds from the City of Newport News, exterior restoration work has been completed.  Initial phases of the work have restored the exterior of the building, upgraded the heating and cooling systems and made the building accessible to all potential users.  Ongoing and future phases will restore the Courtroom space, Lobby and Grounds.  Once restored, the building will be available for functions of a wide variety such as receptions, meetings, weddings, exhibits and other functions on rental basis.
