ALLENDALE, MCQUEEN posted by Jennifer Elam on Monday, November 11, 1996

Looking for any info and other researchers of the John McQUEEN/Polly ALLENDALE family. John was born in Orange Co., VA in 1761. I believe his father's name was Thomas. He is reported to have lived in what became Sullivan Co., TN, during the late 1700's. John and Polly were married c. 1797. I don't have further info on her. They had several children and migrated to Kentucky, settling in Estill Co. where John died in 1855. There are several locations with the McQUEEN name near the Sullivan/Washington Co. line. Is there anyone doing research with this family? I believe there's a link with mine, but am not sure. Would love to exchange info with you.

TAYLOR posted by James Stamper on Friday, November 22, 1996

I am trying to locate the estate of my ancestor James Taylor. His home is known as "Hare Forest" and was built in what was originally Orange Co., VA in the late 1600's/early 1700's. Because of the change in co. boundaries the location is no longer in Orange Co. One source tells me it is near Rapidan, VA; another says that it is near Bowling Green in Caroline Co. The house was owned by Taylor descendants until about 15 years ago. If you know the exact location, please email me. Will share what I have on the Taylors with any other researchers.
