CAMPBELL, EDWARDS, HAY posted by Cheryl Crowder on Wednesday, June 2, 1999

John Campbell (a1672-1741) said to VA from Scotland, via Ireland, in 1684. Then moved to Lancaster, PA. He married Grace or Grissela Hay in 1695. They had a son William Campbell, who had a son John Campbell (m. Ms. Edwards). The original John moved back to Orange Co, VA and died there in 1741. Does anyone have any information regarding these families?

BARBER, BLUNT, CAVE posted by Nicki Beatty on Tuesday, June 8, 1999

Seek information on CHARLES BLUNT who, from 1736 - 1741, was "saxstone" of the Upper Chapel of Orange Co, VA according to the St. Mark Vestry Book. In 1734 CHARLES BLUNT's lower path is listed in the road orders of Robert CAVE and in the road orders of Robert CAVE and James BARBER for 1748. Then from 1755 until his death in 1769 CHARLES BLUNT is in Culpeper Co. Any information about CHARLES BLUNT or his marriage to Mary would be helpful.

GAINES posted by Gaines Hillix on Thursday, June 17, 1999

GAINES Robert, Orange Co, KY, USA; 1720-1763; I am looking for information, particularly the parents, of Robert Gaines, md. Ursula(unkwn surname), who died in Spotsylvania Co, KY in 1763 near the Orange county line. Given his date of birth, it is possible he was born in the section of Spotsylvania Co. that later became Orange Co. Robert Gaines had a GGrandson who was named Orange Reed Gaines, which further leads me to believe there is an Orange Co. connection. I would like to correpsond with anyone in this area that is or has done any research on the Gaines surname.
