CLYDE ALESHIRE
Clyde Lee Aleshire, 84, of Stanley died Friday evening, May 7, at Page Memorial Hospital.
He had been in failing health six years.
He was born Feb. 23, 1892 at Stanley and was a son of the late Isaac and Caroline Purdham Aleshire.
Mr. Aleshire served as manager of Luray Orchards for many years.
He was a member of Page United Methodist Church.
His wife, the former Lillie Dale Sisler, died Feb. 26, 1965.
Surviving are a son, James E. Aleshire of Stanley; two daughters, Mrs. Alma H. Noland of Front Royal and Mrs. Caroline A. Sawyers of Baltimore; a sister, Mrs. Nora Petefish of Luray; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted 11 a.m. Monday, May 10, at the Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. Jennings W. Hobson. Burial was in Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery.

MRS. ROSA ALESHIRE
Mrs. Rosa Belle Aleshire, 86, of Rt. 1, Luray died Monday, Feb. 6, at Page Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 9, 1891 in Warren County and was a daughter of the late Charles Ashby and Eliza Mathews Corbin.
In March 1915 she married Noah William Aleshire, who survives.
Surviving, besides her husband, are two sons, Ashby F. Aleshire and Clarence W. Aleshire, both of Luray; a daughter, Mattie Morgan of Luray; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was conducted Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the Bradley Funeral Home. Burial was in Beahm's Chapel Cemetery.

MRS. ZORA ALESHIRE
Mrs. Zora Belle Aleshire, 95, of Rt. 4, Luray, died Saturday morning, April 29, at Page Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Aleshire was born Dec. 7, 1882 in Page County and was a daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Annie Parks Stoneberger.
She was the widow of Luther Martin Aleshire, who died in September of 1921.
Surviving are a son, Herbert Clarence Aleshire of Hagerstown, Md.; a daughter, Virginia Roberta Hitt of Luray; 16 grandchildren, and 33 great grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted Tuesday, May 2, at the Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. Alfred Comer and the Rev. O.L. Martin. Burial was in Beahm's Chapel Cemetery.

DAVID HUNTER ALGER
David Hunter Alger, 82, was dead on arrival at Rockingham Memorial Hospital Saturday afternoon, April 22, after being stricken at his Rt. 2 Elkton home.
He was born Aug. 9, 1895 in Rockingham County and was a son of the late Phillip and Charlotte Rhinehart Alger.
Mr. Alger was a retired employee of Bond Lumber Co. and was a veteran of World War I.
He was married to the former Ida Stoneberger, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Margaret Lucille Breeden of Shenandoah; three sons, Lynwood and Grover Alger, both of Elkton, and Carroll Alger of Springfield; 22 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was conducted Monday, April 24, at Bethel United Church of Christ by the Rev. Robert Palin and the Rev. S.E. Madren. Burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

MRS. DESSIE KITE ALGER
Mrs. Dessie Kite Alger, 80, of Millwood died Tuesday, Dec. 15, at the Shawnee Springs Nursing Home in Winchester.
She was born Nov. 30, 1890 in Page County, a daughter of the late Isaac and Martha Jane Comer Kite.
She is survived by six children, Earl E. Alger and George F. Alger of Millwood; Ernest L. Alger of Timberville; Mrs. Naomi Nisselrodt of Harrisonburg; Floyd W. Alger and Mrs. Alice Moore, both of Winchester.
Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Lula Housden of Luray, Mrs. Minnie Myers and Myrtle Shea, of Los Angeles, Cal.; four brothers, Dan Kite of Silver Spring, Md., Ed, Fred and Lee Kite all of Harrisonburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.F. Alger and two sons.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. today (Thursday) at Millwood Methodist Church by the Rev. Jesse E. Tate Jr. Interment will be in the Newport Cemetery.

Isaac L. Alger, 67, of Aliquippa, Pa. died Sunday, Jan. 22 in an Aliquippa hospital.
He was born Nov. 3, 1905 at Stanley and was a retired farmer.
Surviving are his wife, the former Virginia Downing; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Delores) Herron of Aliquippa; three brothers, Irvin and Floyd of Aliquippa; Elmer, of Shenandoah; four sisters, Mrs. Frank (Martha) Everhart of Gettysburg, Pa., Mrs. Charles (Viola) Jenkins of Luray; Mrs. Walter (Elsie) Frye of Winchester, Mrs. David (Bertha) Williams of Front Royal.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the James J. Darroch Funeral Home in Aliquippa. Burial was in the Sylvania Hills Cemetery at Rochester, Pa.

John Abraham Alger, 89, of Rt., Elkton died Monday, June 28 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Alger was born Jan. 18, 1887 at Stanley and was a son of the late John and Margaret Secrist Alger.
He was a retired carpenter.
Surviving are his wife, the former Ardelia Meadows; five sons, William Henry Alger of Elkton and Buck, Jesse, Robert and Mike Alger, all of Stanley; three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Wyant and Mrs. Edith Samuels, both of Elkton, and Mrs. Elsie Taylor of Harrisonburg; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; five step-children, Mrs. Hilda Lloyd and Paul and Donnie Meadows, all of Quicksburg, and Elvin Meadows and Mrs. Reva Breeden, both of Luray, and a sister, Mrs. Lucy Woodward of Craigsville.
The funeral was conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles R. Kite. Burial was in the Huffman Cemetery.

John Wesley Alger, 67, of Rt. 1, Elkton died of an apparent heart attack Friday afternoon, Nov. 15.
Mr. Alger was stricken at his home and was dead on arrival at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 5, 1907 in Page County and was a son of the late John A. and Josephine Meadows Alger.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Eppard of Staunton, Mrs. Shirley Wyant of Elkton and Mrs. Gladys Casen of Harrisonburg; three sisters, Mrs. Edith Samuels and Mrs. Ethel Wyant, both of Elkton and Mrs. Elsie Taylor of Harrisonburg; a brother, William Alger of Elkton, and three half-brothers, Buck, Jesse and Michael, all of Stanley.
The funeral was conducted Sunday at Bear Lithia Baptist Church by the Rev. George H. Shivers. Burial was in Mowbray family cemetery.

Lewis Everett Alger, 53, of Rileyville died Monday evening, Jan. 28 at the Veteran's Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va...
He was born June 12, 1920 in Page County and was a son of the late Isaac N. and Mattie Chrisman Alger.
He was married March 28, 1941 to the former Lola Mable Riley, who died Oct. 1, 1973.
Surviving are four sons, Bobby L., Albert W., Joseph N. and Lewis E. Alger Jr., all of Rileyville; a daughter, Miss Lola K. Mrs. Christine Norene Allen, 63, of Washington, D.C. died Sunday, April 23, at D.C. General Hospital, where she had been a patient five weeks.
Mrs. Allen was born Aug. 29, 1914 in Page County and was a daughter of the late Melford and Rosie Smith.
Surviving are two sons, William of Pa. and Arlo Allen, of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Martha Rose Morris of Institute, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The funeral was conducted Wednesday morning, April 26, at Mount Carmel Freewill Baptist Church by the Rev. George Cubbage. Burial was in the Marshall family cemetery.

Edgar Cleveland Allen, 70, of Rt. 2, Luray, died at his home at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15...
He was a son of the late William and Martha Jenkins Allen and was born Oct. 12, 1900 in Page County.
He is survived by four brothers, Albert Allen of Luray, Guy Allen of New Bedford, Mass., Luney Allen of Cleveland, Ohio and Burnmen Allen of McKeesport, Pa., and two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Acie of McKeesport, Pa. and Mrs. Alice Knight of Peolla, Pa.

Harry Bryant Atkins, 80, of Rt. 4, Luray died Wednesday morning, March 27 at Page Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient 18 days...
Mr. Atkins was born April 15, 1893 in Page County and was a son of the late George W. and Mary Jenkins Atkins.
He was a retired employee of the Virginia Department of Highways and was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
On Dec. 24, 1919 he married the former Beulah Judd, who survives.
Also surviving is a son, Alvin L. Atkins of Hagerstown, Md.
The funeral was conducted Friday at the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray by the Rev. Russel J. Crouse. Burial was in Beahm's Chapel Cemetery.

A funeral service for James E. Atkins was conducted Friday morning, April 21, at Evergreen Cemetery in Luray by Elder L.S. Crawford.
Mr. Atkins, 53 of Richmond died Tuesday morning, April 18, at McGuire Veterans Hospital where he had been a patient a week.
He was born Nov. 26, 1924 in Page County and was a son of Herman B. Atkins of Luray
and the late Elsie Ramey Atkins.
Surviving, besides his father, are a son, James Atkins of Leesburg; a daughter, Barbara Caylor of Texas, and a sister, Clarice Doss of Richmond.

Mrs. Carrie Lee Atwood, 89, of Rt. 1, Luray died March 21 at Liberty House Nursing Home, Waynesboro.
She was born Feb. 5, 1885 in Page County and was a daughter of the late Abraham and Rebecca Kibler Shenk.
On Nov. 11, 1903 she married David R. Atwood, who died Sept. 3, 1973.
Surviving are a son, Virgil Atwood of Arlington; a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Brown of Washington, D.C.; a brother, Charles A. Shenk of Luray; two sisters, Mrs. Ollie Kemp of Charlottesville and Mrs. Louise Kibler of North East, Md., and one grandchild.
A funeral service was conducted March 23 at Bradley Funeral Home. Burial was in the family cemetery.

Mrs. Bailey was born Feb. 3, 1890 in Page County and was a daughter of the late R.O. and Mary Weakley Grey.
She was the widow of Robert L. Bailey.

Mrs. Cora Jane Baldwin, 62, of Luray died Friday morning, Feb. 23, at Winchester Hospital.
Mrs. Baldwin was born Jan. 9, 1917 in Page County and was a daughter of the late Louis B. and Lula M. Taylor Berry.
On Dec. 20, 1935, she married David Burke Baldwin, who died March 18, 1971.
Surviving are two sons, Roderick C. and David L. Baldwin, both of Luray; two sisters, Hazel Bates of York, Pa. and Groveen Gaug of Davidsonville, Md., and three grandchildren.

She was born in Page County July 5, 1893 and was a daughter of the late Thomas W. and Matilda Jollett Meadows.
On April 1, 1914, she married Lester L. Baugher, who died April 25, 1969.
Surviving are two sons, Herb L. and John W. Baugher, both of Elkton; three sisters, Mrs. T.W. Eppard of Elkton, and Mrs. John Smith and Mrs.Zutty Smith, both of Shenandoah; one brother, Wesley Meadows of Baltimore, Md.; two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Berry was born Jan. 25, 1913 in Madison County and was a daughter of the late Reuben T. and Susan Jarrell McDaniel.
She is a member of the Graves' Baptist Church.
She was twice married; her first husband, Herman Weaver, died in 1937. Her second husband, Elton Berry, survives with two sons, Charles (Buzz) Weaver of Wolftown, and Alfred (Sonny) Berry of Graves Mill; four daughters, Mrs. James (Lucille) Long of Wolftown, Mrs. Hugh (Mary) Shifflett of Hood, Mrs. Alvin (Ruby) Good of Stanley and Mrs. Bobby (Joyce) Wright of Shenandoah; a brother, Elzie McDaniel of Graves Mill; a sister, Ruth Shifflett of Hood; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at the Ryan Funeral Home in Quinque by the Rev. Harry Chaflin and the Rev. Cecil McDaniel. Interment was in Rose Park Cemetery at Wolftown.

Mrs. Mamie A. Bottomly, 81, of Arlington and a native of Page County, died Friday evening, Sept. 17, at Arlington Hospital.
Mrs. Bottomly was born Oct. 1, 1894 and was a daughter of the late J.W. and Sudie Richardson Jenkins.
On Dec. 28, 1916 she married Bernard L. Bottomly, who died April 29, 1951.
Surviving are three sons, Bernard L. Bottomly of Dysart, Iowa and James H. and Roland W. Bottomly, both of Arlington; two daughters, Miss Alna D. Bottomly of Arlington and Mrs. Shirley L. Davis of Loudoun County.
Also a brother, William W. Jenkins, of Luray; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Williams of Luray, and 18 grandchildren.
The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at Bradley Funeral Home with burial in Beahms Chapel Cemetery.

J. Mervie Bradley, 85, a retired farmer of Luray, died Monday morning, March 26, at the Towers Convalescent Home in Charlottesville.
He was born Aug. 4, 1887 in Page County and was a son of the late Willie and Josephine Clem Bradley.
His wife, the former Bessie V. Jenkins, died Aug. 13, 1966.
Surviving are two sons, Robert C. and Lynwood Bradley, both of Luray; three daughters, Mrs. Irnee Buchanon of New Market, Mrs. Ann Keith of Miami, Fla. and Mrs. Gladys Shenk of Luray, and a sister, Mrs. Anna Lee Shenk of Luray.

Mrs. Lucille Judd Bradley, 81, of 33 Cave St., Luray died Sunday morning, April 23, at her home...
She was born Sept. 7, 1896 in Luray and was a daughter of the late Walter and Semeolie Judd.
Mrs. Bradley was a member of Main Street Baptist Church, where she had taught Sunday school. She also was a member of the Luray Garden Club and the Order of the Eastern Star.
In 1919, she married Isaac Caster Bradley, who died in 1956.
Survivivng are a stepdaughter, Mary Bradley Aleshire of Luray; a brother, Hume B. Judd of Luray, and a sister, Linda Ann Judd of Luray.
The funeral was conducted Wednesday morning, April 26, at the Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. James L. Morris. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery in Luray.

SAMUEL BRADLEY
Samuel Franklin Bradley, 95, formerly of Harrisonburg, died Thursday, Jan. 26, at The National Lutheran Home for the Aged in Washington, D.C.
He was born in Luray July 16, 1882 and was a son of the late Thomas and Blanche Judd Bradley.
On Oct. 22, 1908, he was married to Octavia Koiner of Augusta County and after having lived in Harrisonburg for many years they entered The National Lutheran Home on May 2, 1956.
Mrs. Bradley died at The Home on March 27, 1971, and was buried at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery near Waynesboro.
On Oct. 13, 1973, Mr. Bradley was married to Lillian Kraft in the chapel at The Home.
It was the first resident wedding in the 75 year history of The Home. His second wife came to The Home from Zion Lutheran Church, Baltimore, Md.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a sister, Mrs. Raymond Bell of Roanoke, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral was conducted Monday at The National Lutheran Home chapel. Burial was in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Baltimore...

Mrs. Clarenda Margaret Breeden, 79, of Ranson, W.Va. died Monday, Sept. 22 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 1, 1896 in Page County and was a daughter of the late W.H. and Virginia Broyles Buracker.
Mrs. Breeden was a member of the Baptist church.
Her husband, George L. Breeden, died in 1948.
Surviving are five sons, Julian L. Breeden Sr., William Lee Breeden and George S. Breeden, all of Ranson; Elwood Breeden of Charles Town, W.Va. and Roy E. Breeden of Berryville; four daughters, Mrs. Floyce (Myrtle) Rickard, Mrs. Lyle (Katherine) Furr and Mrs. Bert (Barbara) Rickard, all of Ranson; Mrs. Clyde (Elsie) Ihle of Rippon; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Jones and Mrs. Artie Jenkins, both of Stanley; 38 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Two daughters are deceased.
A funeral service was conducted Thursday, Sept. 25 at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home by the Rev. L.C. Vimpeny and the Rev. Joseph A. Lewis. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery at Berryville.

Mrs. Breeden was a member of Luray Christian Church.
On Jan. 16, 1916 she married Reuben B. Breeden, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Reuben C. Breeden of Luray and Earl F. Breeden of Stanley; three daughters, Mrs. Edward Breeden of Luray, Mrs. Granville Cubbage of Stanley and Mrs. Nellie Turner of Wheaton, Md.; a sister, Mrs. Edna Raines of Martinsburg, W.Va.; 18 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.

WALTER BROYLES
Walter Newton Broyles, 82, of Stanley died Monday afternoon, April 1 at Newton D. Baker Veterans Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.
He was born Aug. 22, 1891 at Waynesboro and was a son of the late Walker and Rebecca Taylor Broyles.
On Dec. 19, 1919 he married the former Effie I. Taylor, who survives.
Survivivng, besides his wife, are three sons, Thurman Broyles of Winter Park, Fla.; Marshall Broyles of Shenandoah, and Leon Broyles of Georgia; four daughters, Mrs. Pansy Brillhart and Mrs. Rosalie Snelbaker, both of York, Pa.; Mrs. Naomi Stanley of Shenandoah, and Mrs. Margie Banach of Stanley; two brothers, David L. Broyles and Otis Broyles, both of Baltimore, Md.; 28 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Ethel Clark Bumgardner, 78, of Luray died 5:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19 at University of Virginia Hospital where she had been a patient two weeks. She had been in failing health several years.
She was born July 14, 1894 in Page County and was a daughter of the late Clark and Betty Comer Blosser.
Mrs. Bumgardner was a member of the Luray Christian Church.
On May 15, 1912 she married Lloyd L. Bumgardner, who survives.
Surviving, besides her husband, are two sons, Ray L. Bumgardner of Gaithersburg, Md., Joseph C. Bumgardner; four brothers, Lynwood Blosser and Willie Blosser, both of Luray; Ray Blosser of Winchester and Floyd Blosser of Gordonsville; a sister, Mrs. Mary Shenk of Seat Pleasant, Md.; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

James Angus Bundy, 68, of Luray died Saturday morning, March 30, at Page Memorial Hospital in Luray, where he had been a patient a week.

He was born Oct. 5, 1905 at Luray and was a son of the late William H. and Viola V. Carpenter Bundy.
On Nov. 13, 1950, he married the former Mary Johnson, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Brenda Findley of Winchestr; two brothers, George Bundy of New York City and Luther Bundy of Luray; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Tutt and Mrs. Florence Tutt, both of Lurday, and two grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted Tuesday at the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray by the Rev. Thomas Sutton. Burial was in the Bundy family cemetery near Luray.

He was stricken at his home and was dead on arrival at Page Memorial Hospital at 10 a.m.
Mr. Buracker was born Aug. 12, 1925 in Page County and was a son of the late Emmett and Bessie Jenkins Buracker.

Melvin K. Burner, 59, of Rt. 1, Luray died Friday morning, Jan. 23, at Page Memorial Hospital. He had been ill two years.
He was born Aug. 25, 1916 in Page County and was a son of the late John and Mildred Seekford Burner.
Mr. Burner was a retired employee of the Virginia Oak Tannery and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Rev. G.A. Cave Dies At Age 88
The Rev. Gird Ashby Cave, 88, of Comertown died at home Monday night, July 10, after a lingering illness. He had been a frequent patient in Harrisonburg and Luray hospitals.
Mr. Cave was a preacher at Comertown’s Independent Church and a country store merchant 35 years in Comertown.
He was well-known throughout the county as a preacher, frequently heard on local radio stations and conducting street corner services in Luray.
He was born March 16, 1884 in Madison County and was a son of the late John Isaac and Mary Katherine Offenbacker Cave.
His wife, the former Dorothy Ann Thomas, is a patient at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. The couple celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary Dec. 26.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle C. Comer and Mrs. Geneva Turner, both of Luray; five sons, Ralph Cave of Stanley, Reuben Cave, of Elkton, Jesse Cave of Luray and James R. and Garland R. Cave, both of Shenandoah; 16 grandchildren, and 38 great-grandchildren.

He had been married twice. His first wife, the former Zelma Blake, whom he married Dec. 25, 1941, died Sept. 17, 1970. In June of 1971, he married the former Lula Bennett, who died in August of 1977.

DR. CAVE dies in Fort Myers (REV. DR. MARVIN H.)
The Rev. Dr. Marvin H. Cave, 82, a Page County native who founded Christian fellowship Church in Alexandria, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, after suffering a heart attack at his home in Fort Myers, Fla.
Dr. Cave served as pastor of Christian Fellowship Church for 28 years until his retirement in 1970. He moved to Fort Myers from Annandale 1 ½ years ago.
Since retiring, Dr. Cave has written gospel literature under the name “The Printed Witness.”
Dr. Cave was born in Page County and was a son of the late George Herbert and Ella Gertrude Kiblinger Cave.
He served as a sergeant in the Army during World War I.
Dr. Cave studied at Pioneer Theological Seminary in Rockford, Ill., where he received bachelor’s and doctoral degrees in theology and an honorary doctor of divinity.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude P. Cave; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred V. Lynch of Miami; a son, Roy W. Cave Sr. of Fairview, N.C.; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Benes of Hot Springs, Ark., Mrs. Alice B. Cave of Washington; Mrs. Hazel McAllister of Charlottesville, and Mrs. Elizabeth Moton of Arlington; a brother, Lynn M. Cave of Charlottesville; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Luray Christian Church.
Mrs. Cloude was born July 4, 1901 in Shenandoah and was a daughter of the late Charles R. and Ora Lucas Kite.
Her husband, C. William Cloude died Sept. 5, 1955.
Surviving are four sons, Ernest L. Cloude of Everett, Pa.; Charles H. Cloude of Sandston, Va.; Willard W. Cloude of Kansas City, Mo. and Lewis R. Eugene Carlton Comer, 65, of 309 N. Fourth St., Shenandoah died Monday afternoon at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, where he had been admitted earlier in the day.
He was born April 6, 1912 in Page County and was a son of Etta Dovel Comer of Rt. 1, Shenandoah and the late Elmer A. Comer.
Mr. Comer was a chemical operator for the Merck Co. in Elkton, from which he retired 2 1/2 years ago. He had been in declining health the past few months.
He was a member of the First Christian Church of Shenandoah and a member of Verbena Lodge 42 IOOF.
On April 6, 1932, he married the former Katherine Nichols, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Kinley Comer of Shenandoah; one daughter, Etta Frances Plum of Woodstock; one brother, Walter Comer of Elkton; three sisters, Lucille Stroupe of Falls Church, Louise Stroupe of Luray, and Dorothy DeLoach of Arlington, and five grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. today (Thursday) at the First Christian Church in Shenandoah by the Rev. Jerry McGlone.
Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

He had been a patient there two days.
Mr. Comer was born July 13, 1928 and was a son of John Otis Comer and the late Matilda Smith Comer.
He was lead set-up man for Alliance Manufacturing Co. at Shenandoah and was a member of Grove Hill United Methodist Church.
On Jan. 16, 1953 he married the former Betty Grimsley, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife and father, are a son, Allen O. Page County Sheriff Ray M. Dodson said death resulted from a self-inflicted gun wound.
Mr. Cubbage was born Feb. 14, 1921 in Page County and was a son of the late William and Nannie Cubbage.
He was a clerk at Luray Caverns and a member of Stanley Baptist Church.
On Sept. 28, 1945, he married the former Ruby Moss, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Everett S. Cubbage Jr., of Richmond; two brothers, Grant and Lake Cubbage, both of Stanley; a sister, Mrs. Vada Stoneberger of Stanley, and a granddaughter.

Floyd William Cubbage, 61, of Stanley was found dead near home Sunday morning, June 11. He had been cutting trees Saturday afternoon and had apparently died then of a heart attack, the Page County coroner said Sunday.
Mr. Cubbage had worked 15 years for Rockingham Poultry at Broadway.
He was born Aug. 5, 1910 in Page County and was a son of the late Hubert and Emma Housden Cubbage.

He was a retired employee of the Norfolk and Western Railway.

John W. Dovel, 84, of Maitland, Mo., a native of Page County, died May 8, in the Maitland Hospital.
He was born Dec. 22, 1885, in Stanley and was the son of the late Louis C. and Kate Housden Dovel of Stanley.
He was married to the former Bessie O'Raliegh from Missouri, who preceded him in death in 1962.
Surviving are one brother, Joe Dovel of Missouri and two sisters, Mrs. Martha F. Weast of Stanley and Mrs. Virginia M. Chitwood of Dallas, Tex. Three brothers are deceased.
Mr. Dovel served 15 years in the United States Army and fought in the war.
The funeral was conducted May 11, at the Atchison Funeral Home, in Maitland, by the Rev. R.G. Deeds. Burial was in the Maitland Cemetery.

Oscar G. Eckard, 83, of Hagerstown, Md. died Friday morning, Oct. 22 at Washington County Hospital.
He was born in Luray and was the son of the late Jacob and Louella Decker Eckard.
He had been employed for 47 years at Foltz Manufacturing Co.
His wife, the former Essie Hinton of Luray survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Louise Ruth and Mrs. Valaria Crawford, both of Hagerstown; a brother, Arthur W. Eckard of Hagerstown; and seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the Minnich Funeral Home, Monday afternoon, Oct. 24. The Revs. A. Bernard Coates and Dean M. Miller officiated. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Rosetta M. Eppard, 94, died Wednesday, May 17. at the home of Gloria Dean in Elkton, where she had been living.
Mrs. Eppard was born June 3, 1883 in Page County and was a daughter of the late Thomas and Matilda Jollett Meadows.
She was married to T.W. Eppard, who died Oct. 25, 1961.
Surviving are a daughter, Ethel Purdham of Shenandoah; two sisters, Mattie and Maggie Smith, both of Shenandoah; 10 grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted Friday, May 19, at Elkton Evangelical United Methodist Church by the Rev. Henry S. Moody and the Rev. Johnny Hensley. Burial was in Jollett Cemetery near Elkton.

Double funeral held for Luray couple (HORACE & EDITH ESTEP)
Horace Newton Estep and his wife, the former Edith May Aleshire, died within 24 hours of each other at MontVue where they had lived for four months.
The Esteps lived at 121 High St., Luray.
Mr. Estep, 77, died Sunday evening, Oct. 22. His 76-year-old wife died Monday night.
They had been admitted to the nursing home together and had been in poor health.
Mr. Estep was born Jan. 13, 1901 and was a son of the late George and Molly Kline Estep.
Mrs. Estep was born Sept. 28, 1902 and was a daughter of the late James and Sarah Alice Mayes Aleshire.
The Esteps, both natives of Page County, were married Jan. 2, 1922.
Mr. Estep was retired from Potomac Edison. His wife was a member of Edith Rebekah Lodge in Luray.
Mr. and Mrs. Estep were members of Luray United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, H. William Estep of Hampton and Richard L. Estep of Rileyville; a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Dorrough of Elkton, and 10 grandchildren.

Otis Hampton Fox, 76, of Luray died Saturday evening, Feb. 3, at Bridgewater Home, where he had lived 6 1/2 months.
Mr. Fox was born July 31, 1902 in Page County and was a son of the late Thomas William and Georgia Susan Stomback Fox.
He was employed 35 years by the Virginia Department of Highways and was a member of Morning Star Lutheran Church near Luray.
Mr. Fox married the former Elizabeth Sandra Sours, who died July 7, 1978.
Surviving are three sons, Leonard Charles, Hunter William and Otis Hampton Fox Jr., all of Luray, and 11 grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Bradley Funeral Home in Luray by the Rev. Robert Jones. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery near Luray.

Raymond Lester Fox 83, of 26 Brumback Ave., Luray, died at his home Wednesday morning April 28.
He had been bedridden for more than two years after a stroke March 23, 1974.
Mr. Fox was born Aug. 4, 1892 in Page County and was the son of the late Johnny and Emma Smith Fox.
On Nov. 25, 1914, he married the former Estelle Virginia Hall, who died July 19, 1970.
He and his family lived in Manassas most of his life before moving back to Page County in 1968.
He was a member of Beth Eden Lutheran Church.
Surviving are two sons, Ralph F. Fox of Luray, Marvin W. Fox of St. David’s Church and a foster daughter, Mrs. Esther Snow of Forrestville, Md.
Surviving are six granddaughters, Mrs. Alice Leonard of Warrenton, Mrs. Joan Buckley of Stanley, Mrs. Lemoine Warren of Falls Church, Mrs. Shirley Utz of West Virginia, Mrs. Marie Carter of Manassas, Mrs. Nancy Whitmer of Fairfax, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Meredith L. Fox of Fairfax, and a foster son, Hillary J. Speaks of Manassas.

Mr. Good, a retired stonemason, who helped build the Luray Singing Tower, was born May 16, 1889 in Page County and was a son of the late Joseph P. and Fannie Good.
On June 13, 1907 he married the former Nina Virginia Painter, who died Aug. 16, 1935.

On Oct. 10, 1918, he married the former Florine May Bradley, who survives.

A native of Luray, Mrs. Grant was born in May 1183 and was a daughter of the late Luretta C. and Isaac Huffman.

He was a veteran of the Korean conflict.
Mr. Gray was a member of the Front Royal United Methodist Church, where he was a past chairman of the worship committee and of the administrative board.
He was a former member of the Cedarville Ruritan Club.
On July 10, 1960, he married the former Nancy L. Southerly, who survives.
Besides his mother and wife, he is survived by a son, Donald Todd Gray, and a daughter, Sherrill Anne Gray, both of Front Royal; two brothers, Connard Gray and Jennings Gray, both of Stanley and three sisters, Mrs. Maisie Coleman of Richmond, Mrs. Helen Huddle of Axis, Ala. and Mrs. Mary Lee Gray of Stanley.

Virgil M. Gray, 73, of Aliquippa, Pa. died Friday, Feb. 2, at Aliquippa Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born April 20, 1905 in the Pine Grove section of Page County and was a son of the late Joseph E. and Lena B. Weakley Gray.
Mr. Gray had been a resident of Aliquippa since 1925 and retired in April 1970 from the Aliquippa Works of Jones and Laughlin Steel Corp. He was a member of Local 1211, United Steelworkers of America and the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter No. 68.
He served on the Aliquippa School Board from 1946 to 1952.
Surviving are his widow, Edythe Lux Gray; two sons, Kenneth E. and Richard L. Gray of Aliquippa; three daughters, Mrs. Donal (Virginia) Patricelli and Mrs. Raymond (Marjorie) Ross, both of Baden, Pa., and Mrs. James (Maxine) Ursitti of Aliquippa; eight grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Osey (Lucy) Southard of Stanley and a brother, Fred Gray of Hillsborough, N.C.

On May 22, 1912, she married William L. Griffith, who died Dec. 3, 1973.
Surviving are two sons, Harold L. and Cecil F. Griffith, both of Luray; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Thompson of Luray, and three grandchildren.

He retired from the Norfolk and Western Railroad in 1972 and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Shenandoah.
On Sept. 7, 1928, he married the former Ola Merica, who survives.

Mrs. Navie Martin Flippo, 87, of Harrisonburg, died Tuesday, March 28 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Everett Martin, at 1135 S. Main St., Harrisonburg. Mrs. Flippo had been in poor health several years.
She was born May 3, 1884 at Alma and was a daughter of the late J. William and Mollie Jenkins Martin.
She attended West Central Academy and on Oct. 8, 1908 married O.A. Flippo. He died June 21, 1956.
The couple moved to Harrisonburg in 1923, where Mrs. Flippo operated Valley Rest Tourist Home on South Main Street for 30 years while her husband operated a grocery and gas station.
She was a member of the Mt. Solon United Methodist Church.
Surviving are another daughter, Mrs. Madge Cole of Charleston, W.Va.; two sons, Harry F. and William W. Flippo Sr., both of Harrisonburg; a sister, Miss Bessie Martin of Elkton, and three grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted Thursday, March 30 at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home by the Rev. Sam Jones. Burial was in Woodbine Cemetery.

John Harold Fox, 58, of Luray, owner of Fox Auto Body Shop, died Saturday morning at Winchester Hospital where he had been a patient three weeks.
He was born June 24, 1915 at Luray and was a son of the late Edward and Anna Moyer Fox.
On July 3, 1940 he married the former Lillian M. Keyser, who survives.
Surviving, besides his wife, are four daughters, Miss Diana K. Fox of Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Lou Ann Cave of Richmond and Miss Terry S. Fox and Mrs. Sharon D. Embrey, both of Luray, and a brother, Edward F. Fox of Richmond.

Miss Vicky Diane Freeze, 14, of Stanley died Saturday morning, Nov. 6, at her home. She had been in failing health for a year.
Miss Freeze was born Dec. 13, 1961 in Page County and was a daughter of Marion Junior and Dolly Marie Campbell Freeze.
She attended Stanley Elementary School.
Surviving in addition to her parents are two brothers, Billy and Danny Freeze, both at home; four sisters, Sandra and Tracy Freeze, both at home, Mrs. Linda Gochenour and Mrs. Martha Broyles, both of Stanley, and a grandfather, Kemper C. Campbell of Stanley.

She was a member of the Page County Gideon Auxiliary and was secretary of the flower fund for Hilliard's Chapel.
On March 27, 1937, she married Mr. Hilliard, who survives.

Mr. Hitt served in the Army infantry in the Philippines during World War II.
On Oct. 26, 1936, he married the former Mary Frances Comer, who survives.

He was married twice. His first wife, the former Sadie Florence Foltz, died Oct. 30, 1951. On Dec. 1, 1953, he married the former Elizabeth Reed Strole, who survives.
Mr. Huffman was a retired farmer and painter and a veteran of World War I.
He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Alma and was a charter member of the Stanley Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Hugh Early Jenkins, 71, of Rt. 1, Luray died Friday afternoon, July 9, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health for several years.
Mr. Jenkins was born March 6, 1905 in Rappahannock County and was a son of the late John Robert and Ada Dodson Jenkins.
He was the Luray station agent for Continental Trailways and was a member of Lafayette Lodge 137 AF & AM.
On May 3, 1941 he married the former Hattie Cave Stoneberger, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Linwood B. Jenkins of Baltimore, Md., James W. Jenkins of Luray; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Katheryn Foltz of Manassas, and a step-son, Harold W. Stoneberger of Lillian, Ala.

Mrs. Judd was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and St. Martha Guild.
She was the last surviving member of her family.

He was a farmer, a veteran of World War I and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and St. Marks Lutheran Church.
On Sept. 1, 1917, he married the former Nina Keller, who survives.

Floyd Seldon Kite, 76, of Bridgewater died Monday morning at Liberty House Nursing Home in Harrisonburg. Mr. Kite had been ill several years.
He was born Nov. 11, 1896 at Grove Hill and was a son of the late David C. and Patricia Henderson Kite.
He lived in Shenandoah until 1968, when he moved to Bridgewater.
Mr. Kite retired in 1964 from the Norfolk and Western Railway as a car inspector. He was also area distributor of the Washington Post from 1937 until 1941.
On Nov. 6, 1931, he married the former Annie Laurie Furry, who survives.
Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, David Poole Kite of Woodbridge; a brother, G. Jennings Kite of Luray, and a sister, Mrs. Walter Strole of Waynesboro.

ISAAC N. LUCAS
Isaac Newton Lucas, 77, of 305 Virginia Ave., Shenandoah died Monday afternoon at Rockingham Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient two weeks.
He was born June 19, 1899 in Page County and was a son of the late Martin V. and Mary Comer Lucas.
Mr. Lucas was a retired Norfolk and Western Railway conductor with 47 years of service. He was a member of the Shenandoah Baptist Church and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
On Nov. 11, 1937, he married the former Iva B. Hilliard, who survives.
Also surviving are one brother, Levi Lucas, of Edinburg, and one sister, Mrs. Zada Keyser of Stanley
The funeral was conducted Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 10, at Warren G. Kyger Funeral Home by the Rev. Hudson P. Nuckols. Burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Shenandoah.

Mrs. Maggie Gedy Lucas, 89, of Rt. 1, Stanley died Wednesday, Nov. 27, at her home.
She was born June 30, 1885 at Stanley and was a daughter of the late John and Sarah Nauman Leake.
In 1906 she married Hunter Lucas, who died June 9, 1937.
She is survived by two sons, Edward Oakley and Myron Preston Lucas, both of Pittsburg; three daughters, Mrs. Reva Virginia Housden and Mrs. Brownie Elizabeth Housden, both of Stanley, and Mrs. Maggie Mae Dovel of Shenandoah; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was conducted Saturday at Leake's Chapel Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Andrew Laslo. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Lucas was a member of the Saumsville Christian Church.

Mrs. Lorene Mae May, 69, of Rt. 1, Shenandoah died early Wednesday morning, Jan. 21, at Page Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since Dec. 26.
Mrs. May was born Aug. 26, 1906 in Page County and was a daughter of the late Lewis and Perola Good Turner.
She was a member of Stanley Independent Baptist Church.
Her husband, James Earl May, died June 17, 1959.

His wife, the former Leona Price, died Feb. 19, 1960.

Mrs. Bessie Jane McNemar, 93, of Avalon Manor, Hagerstown, Md., died Nov. 10, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Luray, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Virginia Lee Berry Jones. She was a long time resident of Shepherdstown, W.Va., but had resided in Hagerstown for the past 20 years. She was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Dell A. G. Guy Miller, 81, of 712 S. Broad St. in Burlington, N.C., died Monday, Aug. 13, at N.C. Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill.
A native of Luray, he was the husband of Hallie Stanfield Miller, who survives, and son of the late Joseph S. and Retta Shenk Miller.
He was a veteran of World War I, and was retired office manager from Burlington Industries and Collins and Aikman.
He was a member of Bula Lodge 409 AF and AM for 50 years. He was a member of Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church where he had served as treasurer, Sunday School teacher and deacon.
Survivors, other than his wife, include one daughter, Mrs. Jean M. Burroughs of Winston-Salem; one son, George G. Miller Jr. of Asheboro; one sister, Mrs. Mary M. Hardcastle of Burlington; two brothers, Isaac Lee Miller of Williamsburg and Glenn R. Miller of Burlington; and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Artie Mozelle Nauman, 98, of Rt. 1, Stanley, died Thursday morning, Dec. 18, at Page Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient 10 days.
Mrs. Nauman was born Oct. 24, 1877 in Page County and was a daughter of Isaac and Susan Jobe Turner.
Mrs. Nauman moved to Martinsburg, W.Va. in the 1930's and opened a tourist home. She lived there about 10 years and then moved to Baltimore, Md. to live with her son. After her son's death in 1955, she moved back to Page County.
Her husband, James William Nauman, died June 27, 1932.
Surviving are a brother, Earl Turner of Stanley, 11 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren. Three sons are deceased.

FLOYD M. PAINTER
Floyd Melvin Painter, 69, of Culpeper, died Monday, Dec. 2 at his home.
He was born March 10, 1905 in Page County and was a son of the late Ernest Lee and Annie Mattie Shotwell Painter.
Mr. Painter was a retired station operator for the Culpeper Creamery. He was employed at Culpeper for 35 years and later held the same position with the Chesapeake Creamery.
He was a member of the Culpeper United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, the former Anna Mary Judd; two sons, Raymond Melvin Painter of Luray and Joseph Orville Lee Painter of Herndon; two daughters, Mrs. Rachel Martin and Mrs. Marie Jenkins, both of Culpeper; five brothers, Russell, Vincent, Myron and James Painter, all of Culpeper, and Hyden Painter of Pennsville, N.J; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Hoyt of Culpeper and Mrs. Virgie Pappas of Warrenton; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was conducted Wednesday at the Geest Funeral Home Chapel at Culpeper. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.

James Franklin (Pete) Painter, 78, of Luray died 10:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2 at Page Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient six days...
He was born July 3, 1893 at Grove Hill and was a son of the late George W. and Mary Ellen Wilson Painter.
Mr. Painter was a retired carpenter and foreman of Baughan Construction Company. He was a member of the Luray Church of the Brethren.
Ruth M. Moyer, whom he married Feb. 3, 1915, survives.
Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, Carroll Painter of Luray; two daughters, Mrs. Archie Jenkins and Miss Marie Painter, both of Luray; a brother, Charles L. Painter of Luray; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Campbell of Luray and Mrs. Robert Barham of Winchester and five grandchildren. One son, one daughter, three brothers and three sisters are deceased.

Leon M. Painter, 77, of Aliquippa, Pa. died Saturday, July 28, in the Aliquippa Hospital.
He was born June 25, 1902 in Stanley and was a son of the late Harvey and Della Petefish Painter.
He was a retired A & S Railroad engineer, a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers, Dads of Foreign War Vetrans and J & L Vets.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Wright; a son, Melvin, of Aliquippa; two brothers, Harvey Jr., and James, both of Stanley; two sisters, Mrs. Linda Bradley of Stanley, and Mrs. Jeanette Walters of N.C.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Roy; a daughter, Virginia; two brothers, Gilbert (Mike) and Robert; two sisters, Reda and Lillian.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Aliquippa.

MRS. MARY PAINTER
Mrs. Mary Emma Painter, 89, of Rt. 1, Stanley died Saturday, July 31 at Page Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient three days.
Mrs. Painter was born March 18, 1887 in Page County and was a daughter of the late Jube and Flora Green Painter.
On March 5, 1907, she married Weller A. Painter, who died Nov. 19, 1947.
Surviving is a son, Amos (Buddy) Painter of Stanley; six daughters, Mrs. Golden Good, Mrs. Virginia Good, Mrs. Dollie Stoneberger, Mrs. Nellie Rhinehart and Mrs. Frances Gray, all of Stanley, and Mrs. Louella Meadows of Timberville; a brother, Cornelius Painter of Luray; a sister, Mrs. Maggie P. Good of Stanley; 37 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, at the Stanley Seventh Day Adventist Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Painter (PEARL PAINTER)
Mrs. Pearl Painter, 83, a retired Page County School teacher, of Luray died Tuesday, May 28, at her home at Leaksville.
She was born Oct. 2, 1890 in Page County and was a daughter of the late J. Walter and Virgie Rothgeb Huffman.
Mrs. Painter attended Page County schools and Madison College. She taught in various Page County schools for over 30 years.
She was a member of the Leaksville United Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School, was a deaconess and secretary-treasurer of the Sunday School.
Mrs. Painter was a member of NRTA, AARP and VEA.
Her husband, Noah Franklin Painter, whom she married June 17, 1926, died March 26, 1966.
Surviving are two sons, Richard H. Painter of Elkton and Page F. Painter of Vinton; one sister, Mrs. Eva H. Bumgardner of Hagerstown, Md. and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Pearl Sours Painter, 88, of Harrisonburg and formerly of Rt. 3, Luray died Friday night, Jan. 30 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
She had been in failing health since November.
Mrs. Painter was born June 24, 1887 in Page County and was a daughter of the late Willie and Betty Jane Smith Sours.
She was the widow of Lewis W. Painter.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Zettie Suter, Mrs. Pauline Suter and Mrs. Elrie Sellers, all of Harrisonburg, Mrs. Leo Blevens and Mrs. Addie Blosser, both of Rt. 3, Luray, and Miss Willanna Painter of Arlington; a son, Watson Painter of Arlington; 10 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was conducted Monday, Feb. 2 at the Stanley Seventh Day Adventist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Mable Marie Payton, 68, of 649 W. Main St., Luray died Wednesday morning, Nov. 3, at her home.
Mrs. Payton was born July 8, 1908 in Page County and was the daughter of the late Ambrose and Ella Good.
In June of 1929, she married Winfield G. Payton, who died Oct. 18, 1975.
Surviving are two sons, Winfield G. Payton Jr. of Luray and Milton Payton of Gaithersburg, Md.; three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Frye, Mrs. Helen Brown and Miss Mary Ellen Payton, all of Luray; a brother, Amos Good of Harrisonburg, and a sister, Mrs. Edith Tutt of Luray.

Her second husband, Elmer Petefish, died December 1963.

HORACE L. PLUM
Horace Leon Plum, 66, of 1010 Junior Ave., Shenandoah died early Thursday morning, Feb. 22, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Plum had been admitted to the hospital Wednesday night after suffering an apparent heart attack at his home.
He was born in Page County Aug. 31, 1912 and was a son of the late Walter A. and Delilah Catherine Kite Plum.
Mr. Plum was a mechanic for Dunham Bush. He had served in Africa with the US Army during World War II and was a member of the Avis O. Comer Post 8613 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
On March 12, 1948, he married the former Virginia Hughes, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Jane Rosson of McGaheysville; two brothers, Wiley and John Plum, both of Shenandoah; three sisters, Kathryn Owens of Upper Marlboro, Md. and Virginia Plum and Edith Mattingly, both of Bladensburg, Md., and two granddaughters.
The funeral was conducted Saturday, Feb. 24, at Warren G. Kyger Funeral Home in Shenandoah by the Rev. Howard Gosnell. Burial was in Grove Hill Cemetery near Shenandoah.

Roy Eugene Plum of Baltimore, Md., formerly of Shenandoah, died Friday, Jan. 27, at Baltimore.
He was the son of Mrs. Lillian Plum of Shenandoah and the late William H. Plum.
Mr. Plum had been an employee of Bethlehem Steel for the past 25 years.
Surviving, besides his mother, is his wife, the former Lois E. Eppard; a son, Roy E. Jr.; three daughters, Vicki L., Mona J. and Roxanne; a stepson, Barry C. Stringer; a step-daughter, Brenda S. Stewart; two grandchildren; a sister, Helen Knighton and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Anna Julia Long Printz, 82, of Arlington last Thursday, July 21, at Mt. Carmel Primitive Baptist Church in Luray. Services were conducted by Elder William T. Daily.
Mrs. Printz died Monday, July 19, at Arlington Hospital following a long illness at home. She resided with her daughter, Miss Alice L. Printz, at 4686 B. South 36th Street, Arlington.
Mrs. Printz was born in Luray Sept. 4, 1888 and was the last surviving child of the late Gideon Trenton and Anna Belle Shuler Long of Luray.
She attended Page County schools and Powhatan College at Charles Town, W.Va.
On April 22, 1908 she married Oscar Marion Printz, who died Dec. 23, 1945.
Besides her daughter she is survived by four other daughters, Mrs. Anna L. Dikes of Arlington, Mrs. Charlotte M. Tait of Leesburg, Mrs. Carolyn E. Compton of San Antonio, Tex. and Mrs. Julia P. Hill of Springfield, Va.; three sons, Oscar M. Printz Jr. of Richmond, Jackson T. Printz of Oxon Hill, Md. and William T. Printz of Woodbridge, and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Myrtle Alice Purdham, 69, of Rt. 3, Stanley died Thursday morning, July 8, at MontVue, Luray.
Mrs. Purdham has been in failing health several years.
She was born Jan. 1, 1907 in Page County and was the daughter of the late Emanuel F. and Laura Breeden Miller.
In September of 1927, she married Ray Franklin Purdham, who died Jan. 16, 1973.
Surviving are three sons, Paul W. Purdham of Hampton, Robert L. Purdham of Manassas and Gene F. Purdham of Stanley; a daughter, Nina M. Mrs. Carrie Rexrode, 80, of Rt. 1, Stanley died early Friday morning, Sept. 29, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient 10 days.
She was born March 21, 1898 in Page County and was a daughter of the late Edward and Virenda Housden Housden.
Mrs. Rexrode was a member of Newport Church of the Brethren.
On May 20, 1920, she married Preston Rexrode, who died Jan. 10, 1960.
Surviving are two sons, Roy Rexrode of Shenandoah and George W. Rexrode of Wheaton, Md.; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Housden and Mrs. Dorothy Dovel, both of Stanley; a brother, Willie Housden, of Rt. 1, Shenandoah; three sisters, Mrs. Daisy Lucas and Mrs. Maudie Housden, both of Shenandoah and Mrs. Mamie Comer of Stanley; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Junior Guy Rhinehart, 46, of Rt. 1, Stanley died Thursday morning, March 22, at Page Memorial Hospital. He had been ill with leukemia for two years.
Mr. Rhinehart was born Sept. 3, 1927 in Page County and was a son of Mrs. Annie E. Dinges Rhinehart and the late Lester G. Rhinehart.
He worked at Rockingham Poultry's Alma plant and was a member of the Stanley Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
On Dec. 24, 1945, he married Nellie E. Painter, who survives.
Also surviving, besides his mother and wife, are two sons, Danny G. and Randy J. Rhinehart, both at home; a foster son, J.C. Stillwell of Stanley and a brother, Lawrence D. Rhinehart of Stanley.
The funeral was conducted Sunday at the Stanley Seventh-Day Adventist Church by Elder Kermit Foss, the Rev. Alfred Comer and the Rev. James Kite. Burial was in the Painter Cemetery near Stanley.

Charles Wesley Rickard, 85, of Rileyville died 3:30 a.m. Monday, April 3 in Page Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient three days. He had been in failing health five years.
He was born May 15, 1886 in Page County and was a son of the late Napp and Betty Smelser Rickard.
Mr. Rickard was a farmer and a member of the Methodist church.
On July 28, 1910, he married the former Ethel B. Deavers, who survives.
Also surviving are, one son, Carl W. Riickard of Rileyville; two daughters, Mrs. James (Stella) Cater of Marshall and Mrs. Franklin (Naomi) Campbell of Rileyville; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Three brothers are deceased.

He was born Feb. 7, 1895 near Buena Vista and was a son of the late Jacob and Lula Bartlett Ryman.
On Oct. 20, 1920, he married the former Ruth Virginia Comer, who survives.

She was born July 11, 1945 in Page County and was a daughter of the late Kemper and Nervie Campbell.
Ms. Samuels was a member of Dovel Hollow Pentecostal Church.

ELMER J. SEAL
Elmer Jonie Seal, 75, a retired farmer of 43 Royal Ave., Front Royal, died Tuesday morning, May 27 ay Warren County Hospital.
Mr. Seal was born in Page County Aug. 22, 1898 and was a son of the late Hubert and Effie Cave Seal. He was a member of Mt. Zion Church of the Brethren.
In October of 1920, he married the former Lena V. Beahm, who died March 3, 1941.
Surviving are two sons, Luther W. Seal of Front Royal and Elmer P. Seal of Luray; three daughters, Mrs. Mary E. Knight of Luray, Mrs. Oneta Dwyer of Front Royal and Mrs. Olena Sours of Lanham, Md.; six brothers, Gilbert, Will, John and Daniel Seal, all of Luray, and Hubert and Roy Seal, both of Hagerstown, Md.; two sisters, Mrs. Esther Shenk of Richmond and Mrs. Geneva Pettit of Luray; 19 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray by the Rev. Jerry Young. Burial will be in Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray...

MRS. IVA SEAL
Mrs. Iva Short Seal, 67, of Hagerstown, Md., formerly of Luray, died Monday morning, Feb. 6, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, after a brief illness.
She was born July 20, 1910 in Luray and was a daughter of the late D. Samuel and Mollie Gochenour Short.
Mrs. Seal was a member of Calvary Brethren Church at Hagerstown. She was employed at the Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home.
On June 30, 1930 she married Hubert N. Seal of Page County, who survives.
Surviving, besides her husband, are four sons, Kenneth L. and Cecil H. Seal, both of Hagerstown; Donald L. Seal of Thurmont, Md. and Francis D. Seal of Norfolk; four sisters, Geneva E. Short, Elva Short and Mrs. William (Rita) Hawkins, all of Luray, and Della M. Rexroad of Alexandria; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service was conducted 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the Minnick Funeral Home in Hagerstown by the Rev. Curtis W. Stroman. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Hagerstown.

Mrs. Mollie Bell Seal, 83, of Stanley died early Friday morning, May 7, at Page Memorial Hospital in Luray.
She was born July 26, 1892 in Page County and was a daughter of the late John and Carry Jenkins Nichols.
Her husband, Raymond Henry Seal, survives.
Also surviving are a son, Isaac Seal of Stanley; five daughters, Mrs. Goldie Pearl Jenkins of West Virginia, Mrs. Edith Marie Broyles and Mrs. Charlotte R. Taylor, both of Stanley, and Mrs. Erma Lee Cook and Mrs. Elda V. Taylor, both of Luray; a brother, Rupert Nichols of West Virginia; 37 grandchildren; 96 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon, May 9, at the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray by the Rev. O.L. Martin. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Walter McKinley Seal, 70, of Front Royal died Wednesday, April 11.
He was born June 11, 1902 in Rappahannock County and was a son of the late Samuel and Floria Dwyer Washington Seal.
Mr. Seal was employed as a mechanic.
Surviving are his wife, Katie Kibler Seal; three sons, Robert Ray and Ronald Lee Seal, both of Front Royal and Carl Seal of Williamsport, Md.; five daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Smith and Mrs. Wanda Scott, both of Front Royal, Mrs. Judith Bowman of Waynesboro, Pa.; Mrs. Mildred Tharpe of Browntown and Mrs. Dorothy Frazier of Luray; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Edgar Seal of Front Royal; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Dinkle and Mrs. Verlie Walters, both of Morrisville. She was born Jan. 13, 1903 at Stanley and was a daughter of the late David B. and Mollie McCoy Lucas.
In September 1944 she married Albert A. Seastrom who survives.

She was born Oct. 16, 1908 in Page County and was a daughter of the late Philip and Bertha Good Stroupe.
On Dec. 31, 1931, she married Maynard Lee "Jack" Seekford, who died April 1, 1977.
Surviving are a son, Lewis V. Seekford of Winchester; two daughters, Miss Delores Seekford of Stanley and Mrs. Shirley Beaghan of Shenandoah; two brothers, Melvin L. and Paul "Bud" Stroupe, both of Luray; four sisters, Mrs. Iva Bell of Chillum, Md., and Mrs. Linda Aleshire, Mrs. Beatrice Short and Mrs. Marie Smelser, all of Stanley; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Annie Nunn Shenk, 93, of Luray died Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Page Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient four days.
She was born Nov. 22, 1882 in Page County and was a daughter of the late William S. and Catherine Printz Nunn.
On July 24, 1901 she married Lacurgus W. Shenk, who died Sept. 9, 1959.
She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and was known for her continued interest in her church and love for her family and friends.
Surviving are a son, Larcugus W. Shenk Jr. of Staunton; five daughters, Mrs. Alma Campbell, Mrs. Letha Bauserman, Mrs. Marie Foster and Mrs. Janet Logan, all of Luray, and Mrs. Anna Mildred Hubbell of Miami, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Reba Judd; a brother, Armond A. Nunn; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Two sons, William Watson Shenk and Harold W. Shenk are deceased. Two daughters died in infancy.

David Webster Shenk, 86, of Rt. 1, Luray, died Thursday evening, March 7 at the Shawnee Springs Convalescent Home at Winchester. He had been a patient three years.
He was born April 7, 1887 in Page County and was a son of the late Henry Clay and Pamily Ann Freeze Shenk.
Mr. Shenk was twice married. His first wife, the former Elizabeth Cave and the second, Dora Alice Rhinehart, are both deceased.
Mr. Shenk was a member of the Luray Main Street Baptist, where he served as a deacon.
Surviving are three sons, Rumsey L., Lawrence L., and Leroy Shenk, all of Luray; seven daughters, Mrs. Gladys Hollingsworth and Mrs. Irene Ramey, both of Woodstock; Mrs. Beulah Painter, Mrs. Helen Keyser, Mrs. Maisie Jenkins and Mrs. Dorothy Kemp, all of Luray, and Mrs. Charlotte Willis of Annandale; a sister, Mrs. Vernon Eckard of Hagerstown, Md. And 33 grandchildren.

Mrs. Shirley was a member of Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
"Miss Mabel" was a public school teacher in Page County until her marriage to Martin Ruben Shirley on June 12, 1915. She studied practical nursing in Page County.
Surviving are two sons, William A. Shirley of Harrisonburg and Reuben M. Shirley of Lorton; three daughters, Mrs. Lemoine (Virginia) Johnson of Annandale; Mrs. Francis (Clara) Brown of Baltimore, Md., formerly of Luray; Mrs. P. Kauffman (Mary Catherine) Long of Luray; a brother, Jacob D. Ruffner of Luray; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Four sisters and one brother are deceased.

Ernest Earl Short, 60, of near Federalsburg, Md., retired employee of a button factory in Denton, died Wednesday, March 31, at home after a short illness.
He was born in Page County and was a son of the late Ashby and Bertha Blosser Short. His wife, Mrs. Gertrude V. Short, survives.
Mr. Short was a 32nd Degree Mason; and member of Federalsburg's Nanticoke Lodge No. 17, AF and AM, Salisbury Lodge of Perfection and Baltimore's Chesapeake Consistory.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Ashby A. Short of Federalsburg; seven sisters and brothers, Russell and Mitchell Short, both of Baltimore, Md., Mrs. George Collins of White Spring, Fla.; Fred Short of Norwalk, Cal. and Mrs. Maggie L. Good and Homer and Bennie Short, all of Stanley, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday in the Frampton Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald O. Clendaniel of Milford's Calvary United Methodist Church officiated. Interment was in Federalsburg's Hillcrest Cemetery where graveside Masonic memorial services were conducted.

Mrs. Sigler was born Aug. 23, 1912 in Shawsville and was a daughter of the late Ward and Jeanette Hollins Rutledge.
On April 26, 1930 she married John L. Sigler, who survives.

Her husband, Lewis E. Smelser died Aug. 7, 1941.
Surviving are one son, Glendon Smelser of Stanley; one sister, Mrs. Maggie Lucas of Stanley; one grandchild; five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was born April 14, 1884 in Page County and was a son of the late A.C. and Elizabeth Broyles Somers.
He married the former Maude Alice Cave, who died in 1964.
Mr. Somers is survived by a son, Edwin H. Somers of Palm Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Carl and Arthur Somers, and a sister, Miss Evelyn Somers, all of Luray.

Henry Amos (Dug) Sours, 88, of Rt. 3, Luray, died early Sunday morning, Jan. 31, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital...
Mr. Sours was born March 22, 1882 in Page County in the Mill Creek section where he resided most of his life. He was the son of the late William Henry and Arbelia Smith Sours and grandson of Samuel W. "Chapultapec" Sours of Mexican War fame.
He was the last surviving member of his family. Four sisters and six brothers are deceased.
Mr. Sours was a retired employee of the Norfolk and Western Railway. He was a member of the N. & W. Brotherhood Lodge No. 577 and the Jr Order of American Mechanics.He was a member of the Lutheran Church.
On Jan. 29, 1903 he married the former Mattie Ethel Foltz who preceded him in death on June 20, 1960. After this he resided with his children.
Mr. Sours is survived by three sons, Voyle A. Sours of Stanley, John W. Sours of Berryville and Clark E. Sours of Boyce; three daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Neva) Housden and Mrs. Carson (Clara) Foltz, both of Luray, and Mrs. Cecil (Vera) Offenbacker of Silver Spring, Md.; 23 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. One son, Glen, and a daughter, Mrs. Vella Montgomery, are deceased.

MRS. NELLIE SOURS
The funeral for Mrs. Nellie May Strickler Sours was conducted Saturday, April 29, at the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray by the Rev. J. Blaine Blubaugh and the Rev. William Springer. Burial was in the Sedwick family cemetery.
Mrs. Sours died Wednesday, April 26, after being in failing health since November, 1971.
Mrs. Sours was born May 19, 1884 and was a daughter of the late McKendra Watson Strickler and Rosa Virginia Murray Strickler.
She was married at Fletcher’s Chapel on Oct. 11, 1905 to James L. Sours, who is deceased.
She had been a member of the United Methodist Church since she was 12 years old and played the organ for many years at Fletcher’s Chapel, which her father built.
She was a graduate of Von Bora College in Luray and taught school for eight years at Fletcher’s Chapel, Sandy Hook, Kimball, Compton and Rileyville. She also was a subsitute teacher for many years.
She operated a boarding house for ten years… She had reared many needy children.
She is survived by a brother, Raymond Strickler of Luray; six sons, Raymons S., Leonard M. and Maurice M. Sours, all of Rileyville; Oscar T. Sours of Luray, Nelson H. Sours of Clinton, Md., and Gary C. Sours of Front Royal; six daughters, Mrs. Elinor Weatherman and Mrs. Nora Smeltzer, both of Rileyville, Mrs. Alice Clark of Browntown, Mrs. Maude Bennett of Keyser, W.Va., Mrs. Kinda Updike of Pratts and Mrs. Millie Carter of Vienna; 48 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Sours was preceded in death by two sisters, five brothers and four infant children.

He married the former Martha Matilda (Mattie) Knight of Stanley Feb. 28, 1906. She preceded him in death eight years ago.
Mr. Sours had been self-employed as a local and long distance trucker during the 30's and 40's. He was a civil service employee at the Netwon D. Baker Veteran's Center until his retirement some years ago.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Martinsburg.

MRS. ELVA SPITLER
Mrs. Elva Irene Spitler, 73, of Luray died Wednesday April 26, at the Clinton (Md.) Community Hospital.
Mrs. Spitler had been visiting her daughter in Clinton and had been ill two months.
She was born Aug. 31, 1898 in Luray and was a daughter of the late William Bauserman and Minnie Bradley Bauserman.
On Jan. 24, 1919, she married Allen L. Spitler, who died Sept. 1970.
Surviving are a son, Neal B. Spitler of Hagerstown, Md.; a daughter, Mrs. Nelson Sours of Clinton, Md.; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted Saturday afternoon, April 29, at the Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. J. Blaine Blubaugh. Burial was in Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery.

Funeral held for Rev. Stanley (REV. GEORGE STANLEY)
Funeral services for the Rev. George Lee Stanley of Shenandoah were conducted Saturday, May 6, at the Assembly of God Church by the Rev. Ennis Dean and the Rev. Sidney Gills. Burial was in the Methodist Cemetery at Shenandoah.
The 102-year-old retired minister died Wednesday morning at the home of his stepdaughter, Margaret Huffer of Mount Solon.
Mr. Stanley was born April 4, 1876 in Rockingham County and was a son of the late Charles and Jane Croft Stanley.
He was a retired brakeman for Norfolk & Western Railway and was a Pentecostal minister 76 years before he retired.
He was married twice. His first wife, the former Bessie Turner, died in April of 1952. On March 6, 1954, he married the former Cora Cassidy, who survives.
Besides Mrs. Huffer, he is survived by a sister, Stella Powers of Hagerstown, Md.; another stepdaughter, Beatrice Owens of Staunton; three stepsons, Robert Casidy of Mount Solon, Boward Cassidy of Bridgewater and Trenton Cassidy of Staunton, and a number of stepgrandchildren.

Mrs. Nora Stanley, 86, of Rt. 1, Shenandoah, died Tuesday night, Nov. 28, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital shortly after being admitted.
Mrs. Stanley was born Jan. 24, 1892 in Shenandoah County and was a daughter of the late Mary Lloyd.
She was a member of the Shenandoah Baptist Church.
On Jan. 26, 1907, she married Harry W. Stanley who died in August, 1965.
She is survived by two sons, Herman Stanley of Shenandoah and Ernest Stanley of Stanley; two daughters, Mrs. Ethel M. Comer and Mrs. Nellie L. Shifflett, both at home; 21 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He was born June 27, 1904 in Shenandoah and was a son of the late Charles A. and Carrie Hitt Stanley.
Mr. Stanley had retired after 45 years as a conductor with Norfolk and Western Railway.
He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Shenandoah.
On Dec. 23, 1924 he married the former Ethel Dovel of Elkons, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Frances Dorraugh of Shenandoah and Mrs. Betty Mae Batman of Sterling; three sons, Raymond L. VERNON STIREWALT
Vernon P. Stirewalt, 93, of Luray died Thursday night, Nov. 4, at Camelot Hall Nursing Home in Harrisonburg.
Mr. Stirewalt was born May 2, 1883 in Page County and was the son of the late Rev. John N. and Emily Hershberger Stirewalt.
Mr. Stirewalt’s father was a pioneer in organizing Page County Lutheran churches in the 1870’s.
On Oct. 23, 1906, he married the former Edna Maye Lucas, who died June 26, 1974.
Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Mildred S. Coleman of Luray.
The funeral service was conducted Saturday morning, Nov. 6, at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Luray by the Rev. Ralpj W. Hoffmeyer. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Luray.

Mrs. Stoneberger was a member of Newport United Church of Christ near Stanley.
On June 12, 1917, she married Grover Cleveland Stoneberger, who died Oct. 15, 1977.

James Garfield Thomas, 101, a retired farmer of Tanners Ridge at Rt. 3, Luray, died late Tuesday, July 2, at Page Memorial Hospital, where he was hospitalized for the first time in his life in early June.

Reuben Ashby Thomas, 92, of Rt. 2, Stanley, died at 11:30 a.m. last Thursday, July 22, at Page Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient four days.
Mr. Thomas was born Oct. 18, 1878 in Page County and was a son of the late John and Mary Catherine Cave Thomas. He was a farmer and was a member of Mill Creek Bible Church.
On June 30, 1910, he married the former Lissie C. Lam. who survives.

Mrs. Neva Cave Thompson, 80, of Lynchburg, formerly of Stanley, died Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 20, at a Lynchburg hospital.
She was born May 27, 1899 at Stanley and was a daughter of the late Charlie and Lizzie Short Cave.
Her husband, Edward S. Thompson, died Feb. 13, 1972.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Borden of Crystal Beach, Fla.; a grandson, Kevin Cleary of Lynchburg and two great-grandsons. A niece, Margarite Sours, and a nephew, Clifton Lowery Jr. live at Stanley and another nephew, Howard Good lives at Shenandoah.
A brother, Rufus Cave, and two sisters Mrs. Sudie Lowery and Laura Cave, who were residents of Page County, are deceased.

Mrs. Waters was born July 29, 1891 in Page County and was a daughter of the late John W. and Eliza Beahm Judd.
She was a member of the Luray Church of the Brethern.
On Oct. 8, 1912, she married J. Ernest Waters, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Ralph, Amiss and Arthur Waters, all of Luray, and Loring Waters of Winchester; one daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Sudduth of Winchester; 20 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. One son, Alvah is deceased.

Mrs. Weaver was born May 3, 1891 at Stanley and was a daughter of the late Isaac and Caroline Nauman Lucas of Stanley.
She was a member of the Leak's Chapel Church of the Brethren.
Mrs. Weaver was twice married.
Her first husband, Charles Housden, died in 1919 and her second husband, Amos Weaver, died in 1953.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Beulah F. Dovel and four sons, C. Melvin Housden, Lloyd F. Housden, Leo W. Housden and Rufus M. Housden, all of Stanley; 25 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
One daughter, three brothers and four sisters are deceased.

On Aug. 18, 1916, he married Rosie Jane Dodson, who survives.

Mrs. Helene Magalene Williams, 52, of Rt. 1, Shenandoah died of cancer at her home Monday night Feb. 2. She had been hospitalized for several months.
She was born in Page County April 15, 1923 and was a daughter of Homer Campbell of Stanley and the late Ida Lucas Campbell.
Mrs. Williams was a member of Shenandoah Pentecostal Holiness Church.
On Dec. 13, 1947 she married Bennie Williams, who survives.
Also surviving are two brothers, Floyd and Loyd Campbell, both of Stanley, and two sisters, Mrs. Margie Stoneberger and Mrs. Lucille Cubbage, both of Stanley.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. today (Thurday) at the Warren G. Kyger Funeral Home in Shenandoah by the Rev. S.A. Smith. Burial will be in Fields United Methodist Cemetery.

Claude David Wright, 76, of Rt. 1 Stanley, died Monday afternoon, Sept. 30.
He was born Dec. 4, 1899, a son of the late John W. and Bessie Housden Wright.
He is survived by his wife, the former Daisy Mae Good.
Also surviving are two brothers, Harry Wright of Stanley and Virgil Wright of Rileyville; two sisters, Mary Painter of Pennsylvania and Mattie Morrison of Rileyville.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. Andrew Laslo and the Rev. Rodefer.
