DESHAZER - DESHAZER, A.W. (b.ca.1831) is shown on the 1860 Farmville, Prince Edward Co., VA census at age 29. He is also shown on the Military Roster of P.E. Co., in 1861. DESHAZO/DESHAZER - DESHAZO/DESHAZER, John -- I am trying to find out who the "seven white souls" shown in his household on the 1790 census were!! In 1792, a John Deshaser is shown buying land from John Ligon in P.E. Co. A William Chessar is shown in Halifax Co (1796) marrying an Ann League. Since Halifax is just south of P.E. County, it is reasonable to believe that these two could be related. In 1798, a James Deshaser buys 30 acres from William T. Smith in P.E. Co. I am wondering if this line goes back to the Deshazo lines in King and Queen Co., VA? Any information on his family would be wonderful!! Thanks, B. Yamagami

CROCKETT - I am interested in the ancestors of Anthony Crockett. Born in Prince Ed.Co.Nov.19, 1756. Died Dec.6, 1838 in Franklin Co.,KY. He married Mary Margaret Roberson or Robertson 1779. Her father was a judge in VA. (I need the correct spelling of surname.) A.Crockett was very involved in the Indian and Revolutionary Wars. He was also a member of the first legislature of Kentucky. I would like to know his parents and gparents and his heritage.

GREEN - Need parents of William Green, born February 5, 1762, in Prince Edward county, Virginia. William Green joined the American Revolution in 1781 in Orange county, North Carolina, and was captured when Charlestown was forced to surrender. William Green joined the Malita again when Governor Burke was captured, and he fought at the Battle of Lindsly's Mill in an attempt to get Gov. Burke back. William Green married Kezziah Patton in 1781 and the couple moved from Orange county, NC to Burke county, NC about 1785, then moved again to Haywood county, NC where he died March 2, 1837. HILL - Trying to find the parents of James W. HILL possibly born in Prince Edward Co. abt. 1815. James appears to be related to a William HILL b. abt 1759 d. 1841 in Prince Edward Co. Also related to William: Martha C. HILL, Nancy C. HILL, Reuben G. HILL, and Frances HILL. William's will clearly shows that Reuben was his son, but mentions no others. CLARK, FAGG, JENNINGS - My great great grandparents, Isham CLARK, Jr. and Lucy JENNINGS, probably married in Prince Edward County, VA around 1820. They moved to Texas between 1850 and 1860. I am trying to identify their parents. I have tentatively identified Isham, Jr.'s parents as Isham CLARK, Sr. and his wife, Mary Ann. Isham, Sr. died in Prince Edward County early in 1832. Mary Ann apparently predeceased him, since she was not mentioned in his will. I found a record of the marriage of an Isham CLARK to Mary Ann FAGG in Goochland county, VA on 25 June 1786. Was this marriage the marriage of Isham CLARK, Jr.'s parents?

DAVIDSON, EWING - Seeking info on parents of Eleanor EWING of Pr. Edw. County who married John DAVIDSON (b. 1759), also of Pr. Edw. County, at Pr. Edw. County in Dec. 1778. Known children were Abner (b. ?), Richard (b. 1783), and Samuel (b.?). Family lived in PEC until @ 1797, moved to KY after that.

BAKER, CARTER, HILL, MORTON, STEELE, THOMPSON - Seeking information on the parents of Thomas THOMPSON, who married Nancy Waddill CARTER in Prince Edward County c1769. According to Bible record, Thomas was born August 13, 1740, place unknown. Thomas and Nancy's son Carter THOMPSON married Nancy MORTON, daughter of Captain John MORTON, in 1797. Thomas and his children (a son James married Nancy STEELE BAKER, widow of Douglass Baker; a daughter Elizabeth married John HILL) all removed to Logan, Butler, and Trigg counties, Kentucky, after 1805.

His parents are listed as Chris and Ann DeJARNETTE, but we can't find a link to any of the Chris and Ann DeJARNETTE's in Prince Edward County, VA listed in `The DeJarnette and Allied Families of America'. Ford's siblings are John b. 1776, Mumford b. 1779, Martha b. 1781, Ford b. 1784, and Ann b. 1787. His son Christopher was b. 6/5/1817, m. Christiana BECK 10/18/1838, d. 10/29/1856. Christopher had Ford b. 8/24/1844, d. 7/14/1896. m. Elizabeth Jane WILLIS.

LEWALLEN, STOKLEY, VOWELL - The subject of this query, Richard Lewallen, was b in Prince Edward Co, VA in 1763. He served in the Revoluntinary War for two/ three months enlistments, Apr 1781 thru Jun 1781 & Sept 1781 thru Nov 1781. Richard filed for his pension Aug 29, 1832 Anderson Co, TN. I believe Richard was m 3 times because his 1st two children were b before his marriage Mar 30, 1793 in Norfolk Co, VA to Grace Stokley b ca 1773 Norfolk Co, VA. She died probably in Anderson Co, TN. He m 3rd Parazeda Vowell AC, TN Jul 1, 1818. Children: (1) John b ca 1788; (2) Richard Berton b ca 1790. by (unk wife). Children by Grace: (3) Charles b ca 1794; (4) Elizabeth b 1796; (5) Polly b 1798; (6) Susanna b 1800; (7) Millie b 1802; (8) Ann b 1804; (9) Alexander b 1806; (10) Samuel Smith b Jan 1, 1807; (11) Nancy b 1808. According to family she had sisters Elizabeth Holt, Polly Harris, Temperance Bailey. Thomas Bailey may be her brother-in-law married to above Temperance. Glassery does not appear in 1820 census with Carlos. Carlos died in Prince Edward Co. in 1828.

He married Elizabeth Fuqua born 1762 in Prince Edward County. They were wed on April 23, 1782 in Cumberland County. FRANCISCO, MOTTLEY, VERNON - Looking for descendants of my mother: Margarette Elizabeth Vernon b. Jan. 21, 1925, Rice, Prince Edward Co., Va., Father: Roy Felix Vernon; Mother: Minnie-Lou Francisco. bros./sis. Roy, Mary, Josephine, Wilson, Margaret. I have one cousin: Thelma Mottley ret., Farmville, Va. Any help GREATLY appreciated. It is my understanding that the descendant of my maternal grandmother, Peter Francisco landed at Virginia Beach in mid 1700's as an orphan, was raised by Patrick Henry, and fought with him in the War of Independence. HUGHES, MOORE, MORTON - Seeking information on the Morton families of Prince Edward Co., Va. I am trying to fill in the gaps back to the immigrant ancestor. Some of the Morton men born prior to 1745 and living in Prince Edward Co. were: Thomas Morton, Joseph Morton, Stephen Morton, Richard Morton, John Morton, and George Morton. Thomas Morton b. c1726 d. 1802 Prince Edward Co., Va. married Ceciley Catherine Moore, their children were: Samuel, George, Thomas, Agnes, Mary Ann, and Icy. (I beleive there were others). Did Thomas leave a will or inventory? Has anyone any information on when and where his wife died? I have Prince Edward Co., Va. deeds concerning the Morton families from 1754 - 1765. I need wills and later deeds for Prince Edward Co. Will exchange information or assist in your search. I also have deeds for other counties in Virginia or North Carolina concerning the Morton families. I have notes leading back to John Morton who married Joane Hughes in 1682. The gaps and documentation need filling in. Lets work on this project.

CALHOUN, DAVIS, McELROY, RITCHIE - Looking for information on Calhoun / Davis line... George Davis / Violet had one known daughter, Violet Davis m. Adam Calhoun @ 1750 -- Also possible that she had sister Jane Davis m. John Ritchie in Prince Edward Co. 1757 and probably brother of John Davis who appears on 1750's tithable list in George's household. Adam Calhoun was in Charlotte Co. (Cub Creek) by 1746 and in Prince Edward by 1754 when George/Violet Davis deeded land to him. Adam/Violet's daughter Violet married 1777 to James McElroy and moved to NC (probably Waxhaw Settlement which is now in SC) Happy to share research/info on all these lines.

DAVIDSON - Seeking any information on Daniel Davidson b. ca 1726 and Ambrose Davidson b. ca 1732 in Amelia County, later Prince Edward County, VA. Their father was John Davidson b. 1694 d. March 15, 1754 in Prince Edward County, VA, mother is unknown. Sibs are William b. 1720, Richard b. 1722, Joshua b. 1724, Elizabeth b. 1728 and George W. b. 1730.
