Virginia Ruby Allison, 91, of Draper, Va., died Friday, November 12, 2004 
at the Pulaski Health Care Center, Pulaski, Va. where she had resided for 
the past 4 years. Her husband, John Ralph Allison, preceded her in death. 
Surviving are five children, Martha A. and Sam Shumate of Clover, S.C., 
Jane A. and Edward Compton of Richmond, Paul R. and Taryn Allison of 
Wytheville, Emily A. and Walter Dobyns of Dublin, and Sarah A. and Steve 
Goad of Joplin, Mo.; a sister and brother-in-law, Edna R. and Harry Carper 
of Roanoke; and grandchildren also survive her, Sarah E. Shumate, Susannah 
S. and Tripp Whitener, Allison L. Compton, Elizabeth C. and Robert Winckler, 
Craig A. Dobyns, Susan D. and Tommy Oakman, Paul T. Dobyns, Michael P. Allison, 
Joshua Goad, Jennifer G. and Niki Piotrowski, Bethany Goad, Kristen Goad; and 
one great-grandchild, Wade Porter Winckler. The funeral will be Sunday, 
November 14, 2004 at 3 p.m. at Draper's Valley Presbyterian Church with Rev. 
Ken Pierce and Rev. Sam Shumate officiating. Interment will follow in the Allison 
Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 13, 2004 
from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home, Pulaski, Va. In lieu of 
flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Draper's Valley 
Presbyterian Church, 2755 Old Baltimore Road, Draper, Va. 24324 or to Gideons
