Roy Joseph Edmonds, 66, of 6119 Baptist Hollow Road, 
Hiwassee, Va., died early Monday morning, December 22, 2008, 
in the New River Valley Medical Center. He was born in Wythe 
County on August 7, 1942, and was the son of the late Roland 
Kiser Edmonds and Hanle Burcham Edmonds. He was a veteran of 
the United States Army having served in Vietnam. Surviving 
are wife, Brenda C. Edmonds, of Hiwassee; daughter and son-in-law, 
Amanda and Robert Gray, of Hiwassee; son and daughter-in-law, 
Terry and Tina Edmonds, of Hiwassee; sisters, Dorothy Ayers, of 
Max Meadows, Roberta Manuel, of Speedwell, and Susie Grubb, of 
Marion; and grandchildren, Jesse, Joseph, and Jenne. Funeral 
services will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2008, 
from the Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ray Bolen 
officiating. Burial will follow in the Cecil's Chapel United 
Methodist Church Cemetery, Pulaski County, with Pulaski VFW 
Post #1184 conducting the Military Graveside Rites. There 
will be no visitation at the funeral home. Arrangements
