SAYERS, Jerry Wayne, 50, of 2741 Old Baltimore Road, Draper, 
died early Thursday morning, January 4, 2001 at his home. He was 
born in Pulaski on January 27, 1950 and was the son of the late 
Catherine Meredith Sayers. He attended the Draper's Valley Presbyterian 
Church. He was a graduate of Pulaski High School, Class of 1968. 
He attended Wytheville Community College and VCU in Richmond. 
Surviving are his wife, Martha Kelley Sayers, Draper; father, Garland 
Lee Sayers, Draper; stepsisters and spouses, Jean and Mel Anderson, 
Dublin, Barbara and Bruce Hayes, Richmond; stepbrother and spouse, 
Roger and Nancy Altizer, Pulaski; several nieces and nephews; several 
great-nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral service 
will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from Draper's Valley Presbyterian Church 
with Dr. Cortez Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Huddle Cemetery, 
Draper. Visiting will be Sunday evening from Stevens Funeral Home 
where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, 
the family wishes that memorials be made to the Jubal Early Camp 
#1691, Sons of Confederate Veterans, P.O. Box 1714, Hillsville, Va.
