Old Highland Methodist Church - 1932
When I was living in Highland across the road from the church,
on Sunday mornings, it was one of my chores to get the fire going
in the old Warm Morning heat stove, before Sunday School started.
The first time that I was in Sunday School was in this church
on January 8, 1939

Said to be the home of Perry DUNCAN family.
They lived in Dublin, VA, from 1914 to 1926. The date of the
picture is unknown.
|
|

 |
Believed to be the youngest daughters of Benjamin Floyd DUNCAN
(1861-1907),
possibly Bertie (b1898) and Nancy (b1896).
If so, the family arrived in
Newbern, VA, about the time of this picture.

Said to be Isaac DUNCAN (son of Benjamin DUNCAN) with his
second wife Rosie
QUESENBERRY, c1940s,
at their home in Newbern, VA.
Isaac lived in his parent's home (on Main Street? or Wilderness
