He was born in Wythe county or Tazwell in 1855 married to Sarah HARRELL in 1881. I know his mothers name was Mary,but do not have his fathers name or mothers maiden name. DUNCAN, MITCHELL, SUTPHIN posted by Jason Duncan on Monday, January 13, 1997: Looking for information on the family of Benjamin F. DUNCAN and Margaret Ann SUTPHIN. They moved from Carroll Co to Pulaski Co in the 1890s. Benjamin was born about 1862. Their children were Eva Susan (1882), Isaac Leroy (1884), Cordelia Frances (1885), Perry Cornelius (1888), Sarah Elizabeth (Lizzie) (1890), Charlie Lee (1893), Nancy Ellen (1896), and Millie Roberta (Bertie) (1898). Perry Cornelius Duncan married Mary MITCHELL and lived in Dublin, VA. They are my great grandparents.

ALLISON, FARRIS, HOWARD posted by Janet Randall on Monday, January 13, 1997: My ggGrandparents were William Cloyd FARRIS & Nancy E. ALLISON both born in Wythe Co. They were married in Pulaski Co. 9 August 1859. Nancy E. ALLISON was the d/o Francis ALLISON & Martha "Patsey" HOWARD. William Cloyd FARRIS was b.21 May 1834 Wythe Co. His marriage license lists his parents as Jno. & Martha FARRIS. Martha was an ALLISON, sister to the above Francis ALLISON. As to the father of William Cloyd Farris, family genealogies state that the father of William was James FARRIS of South Carolina. That he fought in the war with Mexico in 1844 and never returned. William Farris is on the 1850 Pulaski Census with his Mother, Martha, and siblings. He is also on the 1860 Census with his new wife Nancy. There were not any FARRIS'S listed in the 1840 Census for Pulaski. Need information on the father of William Cloyd FARRIS. Thank you for any help.

FOLDEN, HAINES, THORNBURG posted by Timothy Cook on Wednesday, January 22, 1997: I am looking for any information on the family of William Robert THORNBURG(1852-????) and his wife Mary Catherine HAINES(1854-????). They appear on the 1900 Federal Census in the Newbern District in Pulaski Co. They had five children: John Edward(1880-1953) who was my g-g-grandfather; Olivia(1889-????); Henry Lee(1891-????); Cally J.(1895-????); and Gay(????-????). Gay was still living in Pulaski Co in the 1950's and was married to a man named FOLDEN.

The first known record I have is a marriage record for 30 June 1853 in Wythe County, VA to Mary Cartherine RATLIFF. They had two children born in Wythe Co. Delilah Ann GOINS VEST and James GOINS. Later children were born in Pulaski and Washington counties. Other children include Nancy, Isaac, George, Alexander, William, Cephas, Thomas, Perry, Marion, and Harvey. I am especially looking for the ancestors of George W. GOINS.

HENDRICK posted by Fred W Hendrick on Friday, February 7, 1997: I am researching the surname HENDRICK(S) and have run into a few road blocks. The Line ends with John Hendrick(s) of Wythe in 1810. I am trying to construct the entire family in the Wythe, Bland, Pulaski, Carrol, Grayson and Mercer Co area in hopes that clues may jump up out of the data. It did happen once on another line. I have searched in Wythe and in Mercer. The rest are a mystery. If you have any information on the HENDRICK(S) surname in Bland CO pre 1920, please email me. I will use this information to plan a trip later this year to VA and WV. Thank you.

In 1850, he is widowed with two daughters and census shows him in Montgomery Co. Would appreciate any info on when they were married or when Sally died. Thanks.

Have found their last name spelled Atha or Athay or Atley. Calvin md Susan Tate ROCK and Harvey md Mary Mariann ROCK in 1841,Wythe Co., Va. Susan and Mary were daughters of Samuel and Susannah (TATE) Rock of Botetourt and Wythe Counties, VA.

Minnie was born 1/1884 in Max Meadows VA. Dixie Belle was born 12/1870. Both were daughters of Calvin Smith and Mary "Eversole" SMITH. In 1937, they both lived in Pulaski. Their brother, Frank Pierce SMITH, was my grandfather. Other siblings were Charley, Fanny, Blanche,Nannie, Edgar, Robert, John, George and James Fred.
