- HAGEE: I am seeking information about an accident at a refinery/arsenal/gunpower/artillery
company that resulted in the death of my great-grandfather. His
last name is HAGEE and he had a son, Laurence (Lawrence) HAGEE
The son married Ruby Fayetta PULLIAM and had three children (Carolyn
Jean, Phyllis Ann, Robert Lawrence). The accident would have
occurred sometime between 1900 and 1910 and involved a fire at
the company or a furnace ..... I understand that my great- grandfather
fell into the fire and was killed. There may have been a newspaper
article.

- Surname: HAGEE I am seeking information about an accident
which occurred at a Furnace/Foundry company that was operating
in the Pulaski County area. I have only a tiny bit of information.
The accident, involving a major fire at the furnace/foundry,
took place sometime between 1900-10. According to an old letter
that was found in my Great-Aunt Lena Pulliam-GOLIHER's (who resided
in Pulaski until her death), personal things, my Great-grandfather,
Basey/Bassey HAGEE fell into the fire and was killed. There was
a newspaper article (do not know the name of the newspaper);
however, I have been unable to locate a copy of it. I would greatly
appreciate any information about this incident. The HAGEE PULLIAM
LESTER CREGER families lived in Pulaski County and other parts
of Southwest Virginia. Basey/Bassey HAGEE had one son, Laurence/Lawrence
HAGEE (Grandfather), who married Ruby Fayetta PULLIAM and they
had three children: Phyllis Ann HAGEE, Robert Lawrence HAGEE,
and a daughter that died very young from TB. Phyllis Ann HAGEE,
b. May 18, 1930, married Olen Mcneil LESTER (my father)and I
was born in Pulaski, Virginia, as well. My grandfather, Laurence/Lawrence
HAGEE, was adopted when my great-grandmother (name unknown) married
a CREGER, but his surname was not changed. Any information on
these surnames would also be greatly appreciated.
