MEREDITH/MERIDIETH, who was born in 1834 in Patrick CO, VA and married a Phebe GILPIN, daughter of Samuel and Rosannah GILPIN in Pulaski CO VA in 1855. I know they live there a few years, but was wondering in anyonelse is researching the MEREDITH name. His parents are supposedly John & Mary MEREDITH, who lived in Henry CO VA. Thanks, Sandy

FOX, MCCRACKEN, SMITH posted by Barbara Ward on Monday, October 13, 1997: Need any information on Joseph William FOX and possible connection to George T. FOX . Need parents of Joseph William FOX b. 1832 Fincastle, Botetourt Co., VA. Joseph was a cobbler by trade and as a married man lived in Limestone, Washington Co., TN. He was an older man when he moved to Washington Co., TN. At the age of 46 he married in Washington Co. TN, 02 August 1876 to Malissa Adeline MCCRACKEN. He died 06 April 1905 in Washington Co., TN. 1890 Civil War Veterans Census $ Tennessee by Sistler shows a " FOX Joseph., WA-276-1; Pv M Co. 8th MO Inf; July 63 to 65; Limestone PO; discharge misplaced." The only leads I have are the following: Family oral history remembers Joseph as being born Fincastle, area in Botetourt Co., VA along the James River. Late 1880's pictures in family bible of Hiram and Maggie SMITH. Also, late 1880-1900 newspaper clipping of an advertisement with the picture of "Geo. T. ANDERSON, HOGE, HOWE posted by Parke C. Bogle on Friday, October 24, 1997: I need to find the parents of my great-great-great grandmother, Margaret ANDERSON. Family records say she was born in Botetourt County, in 1794 and died in 1879 in Pulaski County, Va. She married, in 1811, William HOGE, son of James and Elizabeth HOWE HOGE. Family records say that Margaret ANDERSON HOGE was a cousin of General Joseph R. ANDERSON, Judge ANDERSON of Virginia Court of Appeals and of General William A. Anderson. I will appreciate any help any one can give me.

REDPATH, STONE, WILSON posted by Linda Hope on Saturday, November 29, 1997: Green WILSON, born ca. 1780, probably in Botetourt County, married Jane - maiden name unknown. He is listed on the 1810, 1820 and 1830 census in Montgomery County. He is on the 1839 tax list for Pulaski County. Green and Jane WILSON probably had as many as eleven children, but I have names of only five - John, Samuel, Rhoda (REDPATH), Cynthia (STONE) and Fanny. I would appreciate hearing from anyone with information on this family.

ANDREWS, COFFENBERGER, MOREHEAD posted by Carolyn Worthington on Tuesday, December 2, 1997: My maternal grandfather, James ANDREWS, was from Pulaski Co., VA. Very little is know about him. I found his death certificate #23058. It indicated his birthday was May 12, 1886 and his death date was April 21, 1930. He died during the fire at the Ohio State Penn on Easter morning. My grandmother did not claim his body. It was claimed on April 26 and taken back to Pulaski Co., VA. The death certificate did not list my grandmother nor his parents' names. My grandmother, Gracie Mae COFFENBERGER and grandfather were married in Pickaway Co., OH. They had four children: Beatrice Lucille, Virginia Celesta, Phillip Eugene and my mother Marcella Mae. The end result of a very trying relationship: my grandmother left my grandfather who followed her to her mother's home and shot her mother. Thus, his placement in jail. Before my grandfather died, his brother Richard ANDREWS came to visit my grandmother and brought photos and gave the names of Jacob Andrews and Lucinda [MOREHEAD] as his parents and the sisters of: Stella and Bertha and brothers of: Raleigh, Fred, Charles, Richard and Andrew. Any help in just one connection would be wonderful.

CHILDRESS, MCKIM, VIERS, WADDELL posted by Al Bradshaw on Sunday, January 4, 1998: Searching for surname VIERS and WADDELL. Minnie Rosella VIERS, a Cherokee Indian, traveled from Maggie's Valley, NC to Crockett's Cove, VA. She married Preston WADDELL. Daughter Cleo. Other surnames in area would be MCKIM and CHILDRESS. Dates are unsure, possibly early 1900's. Thanks.

ROSEBERRY, SCHEDEMICK posted by Hazel Murray on Monday, January 19, 1998: Looking for information on a marriage record for a Pauline Elizabeth ROSEBERRY of Hillsville who married a Robert SCHEDEMICK (sp?) around the 1950's and lived in Pulaski. Pauline was born on June 3, 1888 and died 0n June 3, 1973 and is buried in Dublin VA. She was born in Hillsville. When she worked there she was a cook at the old Lyon's hotel. Any help that you can give us will be appreciated.

HONAKER, JOHNSTON posted by Kevin Johnston on Monday, February 2, 1998: Seeking information about Abraham HONAKER and his daughter, Elizabeth (Betsy), who were living "near Pages Meeting House in Pulaski County" around 1800-1830 or so. The family was living in Montgomery County before moving to Pulaski. Betsy HONAKER married James JOHNSTON in 1823 and moved to Tennessee before moving on to Pike County, IL. Brooks, 2nd wife was a DONTHEN by whom he had 2 more children David and Viola CRAIG. both born after 1921. George had a brother Edward. and they were the children of John and Pheba CRAIG Can anyone tell me about these people or have any links to them . This is all I can find out.
