- I am seeking information on Henrietta MARTIN. She married
Mandeville Jackson COMBS. They appear in the 1880 Pulaski census
in the Dublin district. Mandeville is the son of John COMBS and
Penninah (Pernina) BELLER who are also in the Dublin District
in 1880. Mandeville's sister Malinda is also in John's household
with a daughter. Her husband was Henry Harrison COOK. any information
on this family woud be greatly appreciated. Thank You

- Does anyone have access to the 1900 Pulaski Co. census. I
just found out that I have AKERS ancestors living there and marriages
took place there. Lucinda Akers married William A. DOVE 4/9/1872;
Virginia AKERS married William A. DOVE 10/17/1867; William AKERS
married Sally E. TAYLOR 8/28/1878. I would greatly appreciate
any help on these families.

- I am looking for any information on Alex and Catharine SHEW
TOLBERT. They were married 1838 in Floyd but Alex died in Pulaski
in 1875. They are my 3rd great grand parents. My 2nd great grand
parents were Joel Rufus and Nannie CALDWELL TOLBERT. Joel was
a son of Alex. Also looking for any information on Ollie Matilda
JARRELL d/o Samuel and Martha UNDERWOOD JARRELL. Ollie married
Tazewell Elliot Sutphin. They are both buried in Pulaski County.

- My wife, Mildred Blackburn MILLER, was the dghtr of Buford
Blackburn MILLER (b. 8/9/1898, PulCo -d. ca. 1940 PulCo) and
Elizabeth Hall KING ( b. 1900, Giles Co - d. 1948, PulCo). Buford's
father was William Kirby MILLER (b. PulCo, 9/29/1861 - d. PulCo
11/30/1921) m. 1/13/1886 to Elizabeth CLOYD , b. 1/4/1862. I'm
trying to get back to William Kirby MILLER'S line, Halls ( probably
Giles) Kings, and Harmons. Help would be appreciated. Thanx in

- Am looking for insformation on Alexander M. McKinzie believe
to have been killed in Battle of Cloyd's Mtn 1864. Last know
at Chimborazo Hospital, Richmond, VA in July, 1862. Assigned
to Co. B, 18th Battalion VA Heavy Artillery and transferred to
Headquarters Battery in October, 1862. Was an Engineer on railroad
(unknown) and died when train rolled down a mountain. Married
to Mattie MCKINZIE Sept. 1891. Would like to find name of railroad
and details of accident.

- I am researching Virginia Ann ALLEN b. June 13, 1898 in Pulaski,
Pulaski Co., VA, daughter of James ALLEN and Leuemma "Emma"
A. HERNDON b. Oct 28, 1874 near Christiansburg, Montgomery Co.,
Virginia (daughter of John L. & Jane A. HERNDON .Virginia's
siblings were Lula, James L. and Pebble. Virginia married Garfield
Scott THOMPSON b. March 28, 1892 in NC (possibly Surry Co.) son
of Winfield THOMPSON and Lowiza WOLFE. Most of the ALLEN's moved
to West Virginia. Virginia & Garfield moved to Delaware and
then Illinois (Chicago area) and retired to Hollywood, Florida.

- Greetings, My name is James STUMP, I live in Lebanon Pa.
I'm seeking info on my Grandfather William M. STUMP. He married
Mary J. COLLINS Feb. 12, 1890, they had 11 children, Cathern,
Bettie, Dania, Earnie, James, Lillon, Nannie, Willie, Matt, John,
and Mary. They were born from Feb. 5, 1891 to Aug. 26, 1915.
He then married my Grandmother Hattie Lee RATCLIFF (widow) {
She married Thomas RATCLIFF in Bristol Tenn. April 17, 1907.
He served in Co. E 24th Va. Inf. Reg. for 3 years, they had 6
children, Maynard, Lenord, George, Ward, Hava, and Addie. Thomas
died May 1, 1923, He was 63 yrs. old and my Grandmother was 19
when they married. } Hattie then married William Stump,
my grandfather and they had 3 children Burnett, Frank, and Robert.
Married Aug. 28, 1924. William died May 3, 1928. I'm looking
for His (William) fathers name or any info there might be on
his family. Please E-mail me if you can help or can send me in
the right direction to find the information I'm seeking. They
lived in Montgomery County very close to Radford, close to a
place (they) use to call Crosswitch near the rail tracks. I am
lead to belive that some of Williams children moved to Pulaski

in Pulaski Co. Va. I have run into a dead end as to who Elizabeth's
mother was and where Samuel CRAWFORD was born and where

in New Bern in 1860; was born in North Carolina, came to Pulaski
County with his wife, Nancy (1796-after 1800), and his children:
John, born 1828, married to Orpha and Frances or Fanny; Malinda,
born 1830, married William H. WARDEN in Pulaski County, were
the parents of Sarah, Mary, Nancy, and Thomas; and Elizabeth,
born May 19, 1831, married James A. HARRELL on January 17, 1850,
parents of Nancy, Susan, William, Sarah, Elizabeth, Arpha, Delia,
John, James, Lara, and Ada. Any information on the HAYMORE family

- Daniel GRAY (1784-abt 1880)was found in Pulaski County, New
Bern area, after 1870. First found in Wythe County in 1850, married
to Margaret (1795-about 1870). They were the parents of Lucinda
(born 1824, married John MABE), Anderson (1825), Mary (1830),
David (1832, married Martha), William (1832), Leander (1834),
Daniel CROCKETT (1836, married Eloria), and Calvin (1832). Any

- Looking for information on Elizabeth C. (Bettie) ROSEBERRY.
Born in 1862 in VA. It is reported that she eventually married
a LINEBERRY/LIMEBERRY. It is known that she had four children,
Alice b. 1883, Charlie b. 1884, Pauline b. 1887 and James b.
1890 She traveled around in a covered wagon in 1889. In the 1900
census she was living in Pipers Gap. She is not listed in any
of the 1870 or 1880 census which tells us that she was born in
another county other than Carroll county. Any information or
help that you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
