- I am searching for info on John Barnett "Barney"
LINKOUS born about1822 & his Parents.I know that he is a descendant
of Henry LINKOUS,who settled in the Pulaski / Montgomery Co.
VA. area between 1782 & 1787. I am just not sure how he ties
into the line. John was married to 1st Mary Ann HOUSEWRIGHT born
in Virginia, 2nd Julia L. STALLARD also born in Virginia. If
anyone can help me, I would be most gratefull & would be glad
to share my research. I have been searching for him since 1980,
this is a tough one & I need help. Thanks

marriage records in Pul.C. records. He m. Amanda WILLIS, her

- Looking for more information on Ibbie Erie Meadows, b. 15
June 1902 in Long Spur, Pulaski Co., Va. She died in Tazewell
Co., Va. Her parents were William Meadows and Ida Parsell. Ibbie
married Charles Bascom Jones b. Bland Co., Va, d. Tazewell Co.,
Va. He was the son of Charlie Jones and Maude Painter. Ibbie
is rumored to be part indian. Thanks in advance for help.

- John Columbus THORNTON was born in Pulaski Co., VA on Oct.
6, 1835. His brothers may have been been James A. THORNTON and
Phillip THORNTON. About 1849, he moved with his parents to Bluefield,
Mercer Co., West VA. Phillip and James may have moved there then
as well.On Feb. 12, 1863 , John married Anna Mary JOHNSTON in
Huntington, West VA. Who were John Columbus THORNTON's parents?
Did he have other siblings ? What history is there of the THORNTON's
in Pulaski County. Would like to correspond with other descendants

- I am trying to locate information on a baby girl, born during
the first week of April, 1950, in Pulaski, Virginia, to Phyllis
Ann HAGEE-LESTER. The biological father is unknown. The baby
may have been born with the assistance of a mid-wife instead
of the local hospital. The child was given up for adoption. I
will be grateful for any information that would help me to locate
this child.

- THOMAS DOUGLAS was born 1780 in Virigina accoridng to the
1830 Census of Rutherford County, TN. He married Edith THOMPSON
February 29, 1804 in Johnston, North Carolina. She was born 1779
in North Carolina. (From the IGI) Child of Thomas DOUGLAS and
Edith THOMPSON: Bryant DOUGLAS, b. Abt. 1811, Tennessee; m. Mary
UNKNOWN, Abt. 1834, Tennessee; b. Abt. 1812, Tennessee. Bryant
was my gr gr grandfather. I have found evidence to lead me to
believe he could have been born in Pulaski Co, VA. If any of
this rings a bell with any of you and you can help, I would appreciate
any suggestions on where to look and any information you can

Mountain) on May 9, 1864 as a member of the 9th WVInf,USA. Is
there a place in the Dublin area where the Yankees who were killed
in this battle are buried? I would like to locate the grave or

MANUEL - Radford Virginia) James married Julia Dola JONES b.
9-1877 in NC d. after 1954 daughter of Levi JONES and Rachel

- Joseph WHITAKER (WHITTAKER) was born abt 1754 and died in
present day Pulaski Co in 1838. His children were James, John,
Daniel, Aaron, Thomas, Elizabeth, Agnass and Nathaniel. John
and James stayed in Pulaski County and each of them had a number
of children. I have a great deal of info on all of them and I
am interested in hearing from any WHITAKER (WHITTAKERS) or other
family names mentioned above that married into this family. I
would also be happy to share my info as well.

- I have recently gotten a response to a query regarding my
great- great-great grandmother, Amanda Fugate CLARK. She is the
daughter of Randolph FUGATE, sister to Reuben FUGATE, wife of
Reuben CLARK. The response told me they were from Pulaski County
but I have not been able to track down any other information
on her or the CLARK family. The 1850 Smith County, TX census
indicates she was 35 years old and my great- great-great grandfather,
Reuben CLARK, Sr. to be about 44 years of age. At that time her
father Randolph FUGATE was 66 years old and her brother Reuben
FUGATE to be about 17. Does anyone have any informationon these
two families and their heritage? My grandmother always said ther
father was of Scot-Irish descent is there a large Scot-Irish
influence in that area of Virginia?

on Neck Creek, formly located in Montgomery Co. I believe they
may have been the parents of John HESS (m. Mary BANE). Any Hess
