Sunday, January 28, 1934 Sesame Book Club The Sesame Book Club will meet Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock with Mrs. H. FARLEY, of Henry Avenue. Taking Rest T.C. COLEMAN, who returned Friday morning from New York and Chicago where he has been attending the furniture markets, has gone to Mathews, N.C. , to visit his sister, Mrs. J.B. BASSETT and his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Mortimer A. COLEMAN. Mr. COLEMAN developed a severe cold in New York and was told by his physician to take a rest of several days. His parents will soon observer their 64th wedding anniversary. Personals Mrs. Ethel SPANGLER left Saturday morning for New York city. Mrs. L. H. DEWEY and Mrs. W.C. McKEE attended the show in Roanoke, Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. H.C GILMER and daughter, Miss Lila, left Friday night for Richmond. Miss GILMER will enter St. Luke’s hospital for treatment. Little Margaret BLACK, who is ill with pneumonia, remains about the same. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd SOUTHERLAND and daughter, of Newbern, were shopping in town yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. W.K. MARTIN, of The John B. Rogers Producting Co,. left yesterday morning for a town near Pittsburgh, OA W.W. LOCKETT has returned to his home in Miami, Fla, after visiting his daughter, Mrs. Hugh W. HUFF. Mrs. HUFF is recovering from pneumonia. Miss Clara WICKHAM spent Saturday Mrs. ?. F. ? has been confined to her home for several days with flu. Mrs. J.H. BOCOCK, Mrs. C.B. QUESENBERRY, Miss Mildred DUVAL, and F.L. HILTZHEIMER accompanied the high school basketball teams to Saltville last night. Mr. and Mrs. Julius CRAIG, jr., are spending the week-end with Mrs. CRAIG’s father, J.R. BLACK, of Drapers Valley. Miss Mary McKENNY and Miss Mary CROWELL, of Lynchburg, are spending the week-end with Mr. and Mrs, C.B, CROWELL. Miss Virginina and Miss Sally HARMAN, of Dublin, were visitors in town Saturday. Mrs. Fred CARRICO spent Friday in Roanoke. Mrs. David RAFLO, who has been ill at the hospital for several days, was reported improved last evening. Dublin Miss Virginia RORRER and Miss Sidney BENTLEY were hostesses at a delightful surprise party given for Miss Julia RORRER at her home Tuesday evening. Bridge and dancing were enjoyed. The hostesses, assisted by Miss Alice ROGERS and Miss Lois RORRER, served a delicious salad plate. Attending the “Mission conference” at the Methodist church in Wytheville Thursday were: The Rev. and Mrs. John C. PATTY, Mr. and Mrs. W.J. JORDAN, Lacy Trin-??? John R. SNOW, of Blountville, is visiting his daughter, Mrs. R. A. DOBYNS, and Mr. DOBYNS. Mrs. George MOOMAW is visiting her daughter, Mrs. J. D. WYSOR, at Christiansburg. Lee CECIL, of Roanoke, is spending the weekend with his mother, Mrs. J. T. CECIL. C.D. GLENDY and Mr. and Mrs. A.C. SPOTTS spent Thursday in Lynchburg/ Mr. SPOTTS and Mr. GLENDY attended a bankers meeting. Miss Dora SMITH, of Roanoke, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. SMITH. Miss Alma MITCHELL, of Galax, was a guest Wednesday of Miss Hazel CECIL. A.C. SPOTTS, Jr., and Frank L. ZEIGIER made a business trip to Kentucky last week. Miss Noblin HUDDLE, who was taken to the hospital last Sunday following an attack of appendicitis, is reported getting along nicely. Mrs. L.T. DUDLEY, who has been quite ill, is reported to be getting better. The Rev. and Mrs. Clyde J. WALSH, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. BENTLEY, Mrs. J.W. WALKER, Mrs. Elizabeth DRAPER, Miss Hattie WHITE and Miss Lalah SMITH attended the Sunday school institute at Pulaski Friday. Mrs. J.J. DUNCAN, of Pulaski, was a guest Thursday of Mrs. J.T. CECIL.
