Ruby Lucille Tabor Queen, 84, of 1232 Evergreen Place, Pulaski, Va. died Wednesday, August 27, 2003, at her home. She was born in Pulaski, Va. on March 17, 1919, and was the daughter of the late Charlie Tabor and Mahala Finn Tabor. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Cecil Queen, and by two sons, Larry D. Queen and Donald E. Queen.
Surviving are: her daughters, Mrs. Lowell T. (Carolyn) Smith, Barren Springs, Va., Mrs. Gary M. (Shirley) Peterson, Snowville, Va.; sons, Charles Cecil Queen, Jr., Bel Air, Md., Jerry R. Queen, Lexington, N. C., Randy E. Queen, Pulaski; four sisters, Lois Saunders, Martha Edwards, Violet Kennedy, Thelma Martin, all of Pulaski; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Rev. Johnny Howlett officiating. Burial will follow in Hufford Cemetery, Pulaski County. Visiting will be Friday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. The family will be meeting at the residence of the son, Randy Queen, 1205 Allison Lane, Pulaski.

DRAPER - Alfred Kenneth Quesenberry, 76, of 3128 Quesenberry Place, Draper departed this life Saturday, July 31, 2004 in the Pulaski Community Hospital. He was born in Wythe County on April 15, 1928 and he was the son of the late Andrew Jackson (Andy) Quesenberry and Maude Gravley Quesenberry. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond Quesenberry, Dewey Quesenberry and Ronnie Quesenberry and by a sister, Daisy Sutphin. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Navy as a Carpenter's Mate Third Class having served his country in the South Pacific, Pearl Harbor, Guam, Saipan and Kwajalein. He retired from Jefferson Mills with 40 years of service.
Surviving are: his wife of 51 years, Isley King Quesenberry, Draper; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Dennis Puckett, Shiloh; two grandchildren, Neal Puckett and his wife Teresa, Newbern, Amanda Puckett, Pulaski; one great-granddaughter, Kelli Danielle Puckett, Newbern; one sister, Betty Crockett, Wytheville; brother and sister-in-law, Richard L. "Dickie" and Paige Quesenberry, Dublin; sister-in-law, Wanda Quesenberry, Max Meadows; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Draper Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery with the Pulaski VFW Post #1184 conducting the military graveside rites. Arnold Lee Quesenberry, age 87 of Pulaski passed away Thursday, August 10, 2006 at the Inov Fairfax Hospital, Falls Church, Virginia. Born March 19, 1919 in Carroll County, Virginia, he was the son of the late James Emmett Quesenberry and Amanda Effie Mitchell Quesenberry. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lou Ada Quesenberry; infant daughter, Ann Lee Quesenberry and four sisters, Edith Clifton, Betty Horton, Rose Hite and Alma Huff. He was a member of the New Life Church of the Nazarene, Pulaski. Surviving are: son and daughter-in-law, Lance A. and Barbara Quesenberry, Annandale, Va.; granddaughters, Robin Shelly Quesenberry, Jenna Brooke Quesenberry; sisters, Emma Hilton, Melbourne, Fla., Velta Webb, Pulaski, Virginia Donelson, Pulaski. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday 2 p.m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Pastor Steve Gordon officiating. Interment will follow at Hoges Chapel Cemetery, Pembroke,Va. DUBLIN – Arthur Rudy Quesenberry, 72, of Dublin, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005 in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Virginia on Jan. 18, 1933 and was the son of the late James Kermit Quesenberry and Maggie Graham Jarrell. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Quesenberry. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Surviving are: his wife, Helen G. Quesenberry, Dublin; two step-sons and spouses, Gary and Mandy Lawson, Christiansburg, Terry and Doris Worrell, Max Meadows; brother, Danny Jarrell, Richmond; special friend, Frances Phillips, Dublin; four step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew and three great-nephews. Born July 6, 1940 in Pulaski, she was the daughter of the late Pearl Carnell Duncan, and David William “Bill” Duncan, Sr. She is survived by her husband; Raymond D. Quesenberry of Pulaski; her daughter Rhonda Jean Quesenberry of Greencastle, Indiana: 2 brothers; David W. Charles Preston Quesenberry, 60, of 224 Lake St., died early this morning at his home following a brief illness.
Born in Pulaski County August 8, 1904, he was the son of the late Ballard Preston Quesenberry and Minnie Austin Quesenberry.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cecil Holliday Quesenberry; one stepson Donald Holliday, Roanoke; three sisters, Mrs. Roscoe Price, Mrs. Wilson Nance, and Mrs. Tracy Martin all of Pulaski.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 pm from the First Pentecostal Holiness Church with the pastor the Rev. Parris Wood officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
The body will remain at Thomas M. Seagle and Sons Funeral Home until one hour before the service.

URBANA * Donald G. Quesenberry, 63, of Urbana, joined Jesus and his heavenly family surrounded by his loving family at 10:50 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2003 in his residence. He was born June 12, 1940 in Pulaski, the son of Roy and Marcella (Hanks) Quesenberry. Don served as a Deacon of the Pentecostal Ministry. He also served his church as a teen youth leader, Sunday school teacher and Sunday school superintendent. Don was loved and admired by all who knew him. He loved to talk about the Lord, cars, racing and his family. He gave of himself and his time so freely and made everyone feel loved and welcome. He was his family and friends greatest supporter and confidant and inspiration. His loving and gentle spirit was a gift to all who knew him and was reflected in everything that he did. Don will be sadly missed by his family to whom there could not have been a more devoted or more loving husband, father and grandfather(Poppy). Don enjoyed participating in, watching and coaching all sports and was an avid drag racer. He loved to watch his boys and his grandchildren participate in athletics and was their biggest fan. He had resided in Springfield and Urbana for 55 years and was a Veteran of the Army during the Vietnam War. Don had been employed at Robins and Myers and was also a self employed electrician with D & M Electric. Survivors include his wife Patti (Pryor) Quesenberry, his father Roy Quesenberry, Pulaski; four sons Donald (Mary) Quesenberry, St. Paris, Scott (Kim) Quesenberry, Springfield, Ronald (Melanie) Quesenberry and Patrick Quesenberry, Urbana; eight grandchildren, Elissa, Matt, Blake, Summer, Madison, Tori, Lilly and Bryce; two brother, Dennis and Sonny of Pulaski. He was preceded in death by his mother Marcella Hanks Pallmer, sister Rose Marie Weiss and brother Billy Quesenberry. Born August 25, 1926 in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Fred Miller and Maleta Hall Miller. She was a member of the Shiloh Christian Church. She and her husband owned and operated the former Dublin Truck Stop for 22 years and LJR Trucking Company in Dublin for 17 years and many other businesses in the community. Surviving are: her husband of 64 years James Frankin Quesenberry, Pulaski; two cousins and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 7:30 p.m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Rev. Steve Morris officiating. QUESENBERRY, Garlene Newman, 74, of Independence, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 1993 at Pulaski Hospital. She was the widow of the late Ross Quesenberry. She was born December 3, 1918 in Carroll County to Garland and Lena Porter Newman. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Independence. She organized the Independence Firemen's Auxillary and served as president. She was a retired merchant. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Donald Wilson, Pulaski, Marlia Jean and Bobby Pegram, Winston-Salem, N.C.; two grandsons, Mark Dustin Wilson, Matthew Ross Wilson, both of Pulaski; a sister, Mrs. Rita Nichols, Independence; and special friends, John and Ruth Anders, Independence. Harry Quesenberry, age 81 of 3102 Amber Lane, Draper passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003 at the Pulaski Community Hospital.
Born Feb. 22, 1922 in Wythe County he was the son of the late Nancy Pearl Quesenberry Gravley. He was also preceded in death by a half-brother, Raymond Gravley. He was retired from the RAAP with over 32 years of service and was also a veteran of the United States Army in World War II. He was a member of the Draper Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are: his wife of 57 1/2 years, Stella Jackson Quesenberry, Draper; sons and wives, David and Diana Quesenberry, Cobbs Creek, Va., Roger and Karen Quesenberry, Dublin; grandchildren, Brandee Quesenberry Beven, Anthony “Tony” Quesenberry, David H. Quesenberry; half sisters, Lena Hodge, Jennie Stilwell, Shirley Arnold and Ruby Summers; half brother, Hugh Gravley.

Herman Junior Quesenberry, 87, of 4516 Newbern Heights Drive, Pulaski, passed away Thursday evening, Sept. 2, 2004 at Pulaski Community Hospital. Born April 18, 1917 in Pulaski, he was the son of the late George Ambers Quesenberry and Bessie Ann Shepherd Quesenberry. A son, Charles Junior Quesenberry; a daughter-in-law, Linda Hare Quesenberry; seven brothers, James Garnett, Arnold Wade, Lewis Gilbert, Donald Wayne, Harry David, William Eugene and Garle Hensel Quesenberry; and three sisters, Hazel Louise Richardson, Margaret Evelyn Clark, and Georgia Pauline Hudson preceded him in death. He was a long time member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, a retired insurance agent with Modern Woodmen of America for 25 years and over 50 years with Bower Funeral Chapel and the former Strickler's Funeral Home. He was survived by his wife of 66 years, Minnie Bronette Goins Quesenberry of Pulaski; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Charles Gregory and Tammy Quesenberry of Blacksburg; granddaughter, Susan L. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.,. from Strickler's Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Edward F. Lovill. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
The body will remain at Strickler's.

QUESENBERRY, Lloyd R., 65, of Wytheville, died Tuesday, June 29, 1993, in the Pulaski Community Hospital, following an extended illness. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II, and later operated a trucking, lumber, and sawmill business in Wythe County. In recent years, he had been involved with mining interests in Kentucky, and was also one of the Founders of the Draper Valley Golf Course. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Agnes Morris Quesenberry, Max Meadows, where he attended high school. He is survived by his wife, Regina H. Quesenberry, Wytheville; three sons, Lloyd W. Quesenberry, Max Meadows, Gerald Allen Quesenberry, Beattyville, Ky., William R. Quesenberry, Max Meadows; one daughter, Sheryl Ann Kemp, Max Meadows; one stepdaughter, Janet Ingram, Radford; three granddaughters and one grandson; three sisters, Frances A. Johnston, Baltimore, Md., Ruth Q. Spickler, Anchorage, Alaska; Fredda Q. Gravely, Max Meadows, Va. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Barnett Funeral Chapel in Wytheville, with the Rev. Preston O. Sartelle officiating. Interment will follow at the Draper Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the family home in Wytheville, and at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville is in charge of the arrangements.

DRAPER – Lois Windle Quesenberry, age 75 went to be with the Lord on April 13, 2005. She passed away at Pulaski Community Hospital after a brief illness. Lois was a life long resident of Draper, Va. She was a member of the Drapers Valley Presbyterian Church, but had attended the Draper Methodist Church for several years. She was a member of the churches Sunshiners Group and the Women’s Prayer Group. She had written a column for the Southwest Times Newspaper for 29 years, which she enjoyed immensely. Lois had helped for years with the family business, Windle’s Cash Grocery Store in Draper and had held numerous other jobs, but being a mother and homemaker were her most loved jobs. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Lee Quesenberry, her loving parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. and Etta Windle, her twin sister Lola Dalton, sister Elizabeth Roseberry, brother-in-law Bob Roseberry and an infant brother, also several nephews and a niece. She is survived by her daughter Elaine Quesenberry and son Michael Quesenberry both of the home, she was a devoted mother and will be greatly missed by her children. She is also survived by her sister Margaret Windle Allison of Draper, two nephews Ricky Allison and Rex Dalton and one niece Alice A. Hensley, also several great nieces and nephews. She will also be leaving her much beloved cats and dog. She was known as an adamant animal lover. Family and friends will meet at Draper Methodist Church from 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, April 15. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April the 16 at the Draper Methodist Church with the Rev. Frank Clifton and the Rev. Earnest Chinault officiating, with burial following at the Drapers Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

PULASKI — Marvin Otis Quesenberry, 86 of Pulaski, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005 in Pulaski Community Hospital. Born December 27, 1918, he was the son of the late Nettie Nunn Quesenberry and George Quesenberry. Also preceding him in death were one brother and seven sisters. He was a member of the Pulaski Primitive Baptist Church and was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during W.W.II as a Gunners Mate on ships carrying gasoline and ammunition. He made 18 trips across the Atlantic Ocean and one trip across the Pacific Ocean, and on one trip running the German Gauntlet of submarines where there were 10 ships sunken around him. He is survived by his wife, Norma Sharp Quesenberry and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons with Elder Jay Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the Moore Cemetery, Delton, with the V.F.W. Post 1184 giving military honors. Born May 24, 1921, in Pulaski, she was the daughter of the late Virgie Funk Henderson and Luther Cemore Henderson. She was a long-time member of the Thornspring United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glendy Quesenberry, a sister, Mae H. Runyon, and a grandson, Jeffrey Lee Berkley. She is survived by a daughter; Sue Q. Berkley and her husband Jeff of Dublin: one brother; Sherman Henderson of Pulaski: a grandson; Andrew Alan Berkley: a sister-in-law; Sylvia Rupe of Dublin: and a brother-in-law; Donald Quesenberry of Dublin. PULASKI – Mildred “Bill” Webster Quesenberry, 87, of 941 Apple Tree Street, Pulaski died early Wednesday morning, Mar. 9, 2005 in the Pulaski Health and Rehab. Center. She was born in New River on Dec. 19, 1917 and was the daughter of the late Fred G. Webster and Evelyn Caves Webster. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert H. Quesenberry and by a son, David W. Quesenberry. She was a retired nurse at the Pulaski Hospital and the Pulaski Community Hospital with 50 years of service. She served 50 years as a Cub Scout leader. She was an active member of the Robinson Tract Homemaker’s Club, AARP and the Professional Business Women. She attended the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, Pulaski. Surviving are: her two sons and daughter-in-law, Michael H. Quesenberry, Pulaski, Gary S. and Jeanie Quesenberry, Radford; two sisters and brother-in-law, Edna McLean, Richmond, Lois and Dale Walters, Greenwood, Ind.; sister-cousin, Ruth Phillips, Baltimore, Md.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the First Pentecostal Holiness Church (Family Life Center), Pulaski with Rev. C. R. Conner officiating. Nannie Alverta Windle Quesenberry, 89, of Draper died Thursday night, Aug. 7, 2003 in the Wythe County Community Hospital. She was born in Pulaski County on Dec. 31, 1913 and was the daughter of the late William and Bessie Windle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Smith Quesenberry, Sr., and by two grandsons, Wayne and Mike Akers and by a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Hughes. She was a member of the Drapers Valley Presbyterian Church. Preceded in death by husband Robert “Bob” Quesenberry, Sr. with whom they shared the joy of their five children and spouses; Roberta H. Courtney, Robert and Hope Quesenberry, Rodney and Darlene Quesenberry, Ronda and Roy May, and Randall and Veronica Quesenberry. Norma and Bob were blessed with ten granddaughters, two grandsons, and one great-grandson. Norma is survived by her sister Clara Belle Gallimore Quesenberry and brother Charles Roy Gallimore. Granny will be missed! Norma will be transported to Hiwassee, Va. Family will have a private visitation from 6-7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 15. HIWASSEE - Ricky Eugene Quesenberry, age 43 of Bethel Church Road, Hiwassee passed away Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004.
Born April 29, 1961 in Pulaski, He is the son of Norma Jean Farley Quesenberry and the late James Douglas Quesenberry. He is also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Marguerite and Levi Farley, and his paternal grandparents, James Robert and Mary Jane Quesenberry.
Ricky was a long time member of the Hiwassee Volunteer Fire Department. He was a faithful member of the Max Creek Baptist Church, Hiwassee.
Surviving are: his mother, Norma Jean Farley Quesenberry, Pulaski; brothers and sisters-in-law, James "Dougie" and Barbara Saunders Quesenberry, Pulaski, Danny Lee and Rhonda Lynn Hawkins Quesenberry, Snowville, David Allan and Monica Carden Quesenberry, Dublin; nephews, Christopher Aaron Quesenberry and Travis Nathaniel Quesenberry.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday 2 p.m. at Max Creek Baptist Church, Hiwassee with Pastor Mike Coleman officiating.
Interment will follow at Hurst Family Cemetery, Hiwassee.

PULASKI - Roy Arthur Quesenberry, age 88 of Pulaski, died Wednesday evening August 17, 2005 in Pulaski Community Hospital. Born June 30, 1917 in Pulaski, he was the son of the late Ada Porterfield Quesenberry & John I. Quesenberry. He was a veteran of W.W.II, having served the U.S. Army in the 470th Anti-aircraft Artillery Battalion, & the 276 Medical Corp. as a Sgt, and fought in New Guinea, Bismark, Southern Philippines, & Luzon. For his service, he received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars, 1 Bronze Arrowhead, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star. Mr. Quesenberry was a self employed paint contractor with 37 years of service in Virginia Beach area. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen S. Quesenberry, 2 sons; Donald Gene Quesenberry, & Billy Roy Quesenberry 3 sisters; & 2 brothers. He is survived by 2 sons; Dennis G. Quesenberry & Harless G. "Sonny" Martin both of Pulaski: 3 sisters; Janette "Jan" Akers of Pulaski, Mrs. Lula Powers, & Mrs. Anna King, both of Virginia Beach: 2 sisters-in-law; Pat Quesenberry, of Urbana, Ohio, & Donna Quesenberry of Radford. Travis Wayne Quesenberry, age 22 of 508 Barbara Lane, Pulaski, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 11, 2006. Born January 12, 1984 in Roanoke, he was the son of Beatrice Jane Quesenberry and the late William Wayne Allison, Jr. He was also preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents, Junior and Betty Quesenberry; Paternal Grandfather, William Wayne “Booty” Allison, Sr.; Aunt, Cynthia “Cindy” Allison; Uncles, Randall “Randy” Allison, Alan ìRickyî Allison, and Keith Emmuel Allison all of Draper; and Cousin, Rusty Quesenberry. He is survived by his mother, Beatrice Jane Quesenberry of Pulaski, his sister, August Jane Allison of Pulaski, and grandmother Margaret Windle Allison of Draper. He was a 2002 graduate of Pulaski County High School. He lived in Wythe County for many years before moving to Pulaski. He was an accomplished mechanic. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Daniel Charles Quinlan, loving dad, coach, and Professor of Sociology at Emory and Henry College died suddenly of heart complications while cycling with his best friend Richard “Dickie” McMillan on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003. He was only 52 and is survived by his four children, Aaron (28), Conor (23), Molly (22), and Kieran (17); his fiancee, Debbie Sullins; and his three siblings, Timothy Quinlan, Todd Quinlan, and Katie Meisinger. A memorial service will be held at Stevens Funeral Home on Sunday, Oct. 19, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to The Boston Neurosurgical Foundation.
