††††††††††† Augusta County, to wit,

On this 25th day of February in the year of our Lord 1822, in open Court, being a Court of record for Augusta County, in which proceedings are had according to the Course of the Common Law, which has unlimited jurisdiction in civil actions in point of amounthas the power of fine & imprisonment, & has all its proceedings duly registered personally appeared Frederick Grass aged about sixty six years, a resident of the County & State aforesaid, to whom the pension certificate No. 15299, dated the 9th day of October 1819, was granted, having been solemly sworn saith that he was a resident citizen of the United States on the 18th day of March 1818, & that he hath not since that time by sale, gift, or in any manner disposed of his property or any part thereof with intent thereby so to diminish it, as to bring himself within the provisions of an act of congress entitled ďan act to provide for the relief of certain persons engaged in the Land & Naval service of the United States in the revolutionary war, & that he hath not, nor has any person in trust for him any property or securities contracts or debts due to him, nor hath he any other property except what is set forth in the schedule hereto annexed & by him subscribed. He has no family except his wife, who is fifty years old & very infirm, his Occupation has been that of a Waggoner, but from age and infirmity he is unable to follow it.
