Notes |
In 1967 J. Robert Swank noted "Markers were
found for two of the above. Others may be buried here. Names of most were supplied from
memory by Mr. S. M. Burnshire, custodian of Linville cemetery. Remarks of praise were
heard from many who knew Mrs. Josephine Temple for her deeds of kindness to those of the
section in time of sickness and need, and of her long service in the family of Dr. Graves.
John Temple was sent to Harpers Ferry for an education by Senator Pennypacker. He was
married twice, had a large family and sent them to the Harrisonburg school. All praise the
family for their worth to the community." * Records show "this is a negro
cemetery". |
