Run Grocery, continue west on Route 259 for about 2 miles. Turn left onto Route 819

Notes |
In 1967 J. Robert Swank noted "There are many
field stones. Space would indicate probably 100 graves." Please note there are two
Negro burials listed and, legend says there were other Negro slaves buried in this
cemetery, but their names are unknown. In 2003 Shirley Cullers Miller writes, "
According to the size, sunken places, a few marked tombstones, and field stone markings,
there are about 45 to 50 burials in this Miller Cemetery, but the rest of their names are
unknown." Cemetery records compiled by Shirley Cullers Miller using headstones,
field/river rocks, papers of Warren Souder and Lewis Yankey, J. Robert Swanks 1967
records, and through interviews with area residents. |
