I am looking for the parents of Michael SUMMERS, born 10 Oct. 1792 in Rockingham Co. married 22 Nov. 1810 to Mary SHULTZ in Rockingham Co. I believe his father was also named Michael and died in Rockingham Co. before 1840. Michael and Mary were living in Ross Co. OH in 1812 and then in Tippecanoe Co. IN by 1830 where he died 4 Nov. 1848. Also need information on Rebecca SUMMERS married 19 May 1802 in Rockingham Co. to Conrad WAGNER and David SUMMERS born in Rockingham Co. 29 April 1793, died in Tippecanoe Co. IN 1 August 1843.

Sarah(Sallie)White-- married 8/15/1820; Virginia Armentrout Born: 1848; James Robert Green Born: 10/22/1864; Martha Rebecca Branner Born: 9/5/1864; Hampton Robert Green(e)Born: 4/28/1888; Tracy Elizabeth Rodeffer Born: 10/11/1887; My side: James Wood; Was in Civil War per Great GrandMother. Traced a James Wood 7th Va.. Cavalry Co. F thru the Archives in Washington. Richmond had no war records and referred me to the National records. Found (3) Muster roll records between 1863/64 where he was present for duty at Lost River and Timborville--paid by Capt. Ashby. No other record of him.

James William PEYTON, born in Rockinham County in May 1851. His parents are John W. and Elizabeth Bailey Peyton. James' brothers and sisters are George A., b. May 1855; Mary W., b.1857; John M., b. 1856; Ann E., b. May 1860; Benjamin F., b. Aug 1863; Henry G., b. 1866; Charles L., b. Marcellus Campbell, b. 1874 in MD; and Julia F., b. 1876 in MD. In the 1860 census, the family lived in Harrisonburg, District No. 1, in Rockingham Co., VA. Can you suggest an old cemetery that I could check for this surname? Thank you.

Tracing our family backwards from Perry county, Ill, the last definite link is John Byrd or Bird. It is believed that his father was Thomas C. Byrd who was the son of Andrew Byrd the III of Rockingham county. He would be the nephew of Mounce and Abraham Byrd. Specifically, we are trying to link how John's father came to be living in Illinois at the time of his birth (3/11/1800) and in establishing that this Thomas C.Byrd is indeed the son of Andrew.

SURBER was the son of Andrew SURBER (b. ca 1799 in Bath Co, d. bef. 25 Sep 1854 in Darke Co OH ) who married 18 May 1830 in Alleghany Co VA to Caroline HARNSBERGER (b. ca 1808 in VA). This family line came from Switzerland to Pennsylvania to Shenandoah Valley areas. I am looking for ancestors and descendents of these people.

George was the son of Jacob Shauman/Shoeman who married 9 Jun 1806 in McGaheysville, Rockingham Co to Christinia Sivey. Jacob was the son of Stephen Showman (b. after 1753, d. bef. October 13, 1823 in Shenandoah Co VA). This family line came from Germany to Pennsylvania to Washington Co MD to Shenandoah Co VA then to Rockingham Co. I am looking for ancestors and descendents of these people.

SIPE, Archabald/Archibald B:unknown D:June 14, 1921 to Minnie LURTZ SIPE, father unknown. Married Nancy J. FULTZ (FELTZ,FOLTZ), B:Sept. 26, 1849 in Virginia to William FULTZ (FELTZ,FOLTZ), She died North Dakota on March 12, 1913. They had seven children. All born in McGaheysville. They are Annie May, John Paul, Joseph, Catherine Harriet, and three more. Archibald and Nancy and children moved to North Dakota around 1900. Many descendants in ND,WA,NE,WI. Will share info.

Capt. Phillip NULL from PA served in NC during the revolutionary war. After the war he returned to Lincolnton, NC and married Margaret BEAUCHAMP (BUSHONG) who was from Rockingham County VA.. They later moved to live with her father Pierre BEAUCHAMP (BUSHONG) believe to be in Rockingham County. Some of their children were born in VA, including Henry NULL, who I believe is my ggg grandfather. Henry later moved to Westmoreland Co. PA and raised a family. Any information on these lines would be appreciated.
