CRAMER, HAINES, HAYNES posted by Ethel Haines on Monday, February 2, 1998

Researching John C. HAYNES/HAINES b 28 Jan 1815 in PA; married Margaret E. CRAMER in 1835.  Family in Monongalia WV from abt 1836-1854 and then moved on to KY, OH, and other areas. "Virginia Valley Records" by Wayland lists land owners in Rockingham Co. in 1789:  Casper, Peter, Jonas, John, Frederick.  As I have not found siblings of John C.'s, and he has ch named Casper, Peter, Jonas, and John, perhaps there is a connection that will assist me.  Also, a Rockingham marriage lists George Haugh and Christina Haines m Dec 1824. I also have a Christina and a Christiana. Would very much appreciate some comments/ideas from Haines researchers.

MAY posted by John May on Monday, February 9, 1998

There is a strong possibility that Daniel May b. ca 1778 came from this part of Virginia. Daniel moved to Fairfield County Ohio in and around 1803 with his wife TACY b ca 1776 maiden name unknown. It could have been before that but his first daughter was born that year. It is my understanding that several May's have history in this area and many people from this area migrated to Fairfield County Ohio. Looking for any possibilities on May Family Connections. I have considerable information on Daniel & Tacy's descendants.

DAYLEY, KINDER, KINTER, KITNER, MCDANIEL posted by Sherry Mazzetti  on Tuesday, February 10, 1998

Would like info on the Charles DAYLEY and John MCDANIEL who lived at Brock's Gap.  Found them in Chalkley.  Both are names of my ancestors and, at least, potential relatives.  Definitely had "Uncle" Mack MCDANIEL and wife Lucy in Spotsylvania Co 1778-1781.  Looking for their marriage and that of my ancestor, John MCDANIEL to unknown about same time.  Note that neighbor Francis MCBRIDE--not a relative's name--bought land in Brock's Gap from the KINDER/KINTER family of PA.  A Sophia KITNER married a John MCDANIEL in PA in 1777, county unknown.  I have family lines in several PA counties.  Appreciate help from anyone who can offer any clues that can help me determine if the Brock's Gap people are my relatives or not.  My lines went to KY beginning about 1781.
