Robert HOUCHINS born 1810 in Louisa Co., VA and lived in Rockingham Co. from 1830's to about 1852 when he moved to Ohio. He may have married MOSS and had children.  He married Elizabeth FERRELL and had more children.  He may have married three times.  Any information on them appreciated. Thanks.

VA  he  married Magdalene "Martha" HOUGHMAN ( HUFFMAN)  b.1765-84. and d. 1816 in Brocks Gap, Rockingham Co, VA Dau. of Henry and Mary Magdalene HOUGHMAN of Loudon Co. VA. Their Children were: George May b.1778  /   Daniel May b.1781 / Mary Magdalene "Molly" May b.1781  / James May b.1785  /   Henry May  b.1786  /   Abraham  (or Adam ) May  b.1787  /   Johannes ( John) May  1788 /  Joseph May b. 1792  / Andrew May b.1794  / Isaac May  b.1797  /  Samuel May  ( my line ) b. 1799  / Elizabeth "Betsy" May b. 1801 / Jacob May b. 1805 / and Benjamin May b 1810.  Samuel's son , James M. Searching for MICHAEL family connected to the Peaked Mountain Church in McGaheysville, Rockingham Co, VA.  I am looking for William b. c1750, and/or Adam b. c1755 who are sons of Christian MICHAEL.  The point here is to tie in with Frederick MICHAEL of Augusta Co, VA and wife Elizabeth.  Believed to be from Berks Co, Pa.  There was a connection between these two families.  Does anyone have info on it???

I am looking for information about my great-great grandparents, Major Wilson HARPER (1835-1914) and wife Georgeana V. PETERSON (1846-1907).  He served in the 25th VA Infantry during the Civil War.  The family is listed in the 1880 census as residing near Broadway, VA.  Children as of 1880:  Edgar L., George W., Minnie L., and Jas. W.H.  Any information will be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for the parents and grandparents of Martin FRANK.  Martin was born in 1795.  He married Sarah/Sally ARGABRIGHT who was born in 1797/1798.  They were married in 1815.  They had a son, James Harvey Frank who was born in 1818 in Rockingham County.  They moved shortly thereafter to Champaign County Ohio.  They are listed in the Champaign County census of 1820.  Any information anyone might have on the Frank family would be most helpful.  Thanks in advance.

My ancestor, John Snapp, Jr. (l788-l830) was born in Rockingham Co., Va.  His father, John Snapp, Sr. (l749-l8l8) was born Frederick Co., Va. John Snapp, Jr., married Elizabeth Cook (l792-l874), 20 Oct. l807, Rockingham Co., Va. Elizabeth Cook was the daughter of Henry Cook (c.l755-l8l0) and Mary Magdalene Hudlow (l768-l825). Mary Magdalene Hudlow was the daughter of Andrew Hudlow (l730-l785) and Mary Margareth Sayler-Saylor (l740-l807).  All of the above resided in Rockingham Co., Va. John Snapp, Sr. (l749-l8l8) and John Snapp, Jr. (l788-l830) removed themselves and their families in l8l5 and settled in Washington and Greene Co's., Tennessee.

I am seeking more information on John and Susannah RAY (or WRAY) who resided in Rockingham county from at least 1768 to at least November of 1776. John Ray was a member of the Lacey Springs (then Big Springs) Church. Susannah was baptized in 1772. John was excommunicated in August 1774. My resources to Rockingham county records is limited. I would like to find some land records or an estate record. It is possible that this couple moved down the valley and ended up in Montgomery or Greenbrier county Virginia. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

Seeking any info regarding the Parentage of John Plum, b. 1800 in Virginia, died 1869 Page County, Virginia.  In 1826 in Rockingham County he married Sally Lee, daughter of Henry Lee and Fanny Lamb.  Sally and John moved to the Southern Portion of Page County. They had the following kids- Lucinda, Margaret Jane, Susannah, Samuel, William H, John M., Louis and George Washington.  Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I am researching my Great Grandfather, Joseph J.DORSEY, who was born in Rawley Springs in 1860.  He was married to Mary E.Derrow.  I need to know the names of Joseph's siblings.  I was told he did not have any.  In the 1870 federal census he had two listed.  Joseph was a stone mason, he had 4 daughters, and died in 1953.I would appreciate any information on his family.
