I am trying to find the parents and family of Robert E. COFFMAN in Rockingham County Va. Robert was born in 1854, and left home in 1870 , to Fort Recovery Ohio.  I am told he had a lot of brothers and sisters, and that his father died when he was young.  I think what I need to find is an 1860 Census of the area.Does anyone have any information on the COFFMANS?

Shepp, Solomon born 1 Nov. 1816 married DORMAN, Mary Ann born 9 Dec. 1825, they married 9 March 1848 in Rockingham Co. both died in Bridgewater and are buried in Keezletown.  I need help with Solomon parents.  SHEPP,George MARRIED COOLER, Catherine(widow) on 11 August 1815, in Rockingham Co. bond signed by SHEPP, George and SHEPP, John. I need help with Mary Ann's parents. they are DORMAN, Christian and GATES, Barbara married 26 Sept. 1822, Rockingham Co. Christian"s father possibily Andrew and Barbara father Abraham GATES. They had at least 8 chilren of which Mary Ann was born on 9 Dec. 1825.  I will share what I have which is alot down from Solomon SHEPP. Thanks,

FURRY, William married WHEELER, Eliza A. William died 15 Nov. 1880, Bridgewater, Rockingham Co. FURRY,Jacob father of William ? and mother Rachel. FURRY,Charles M.  my 3rd great grandfather was son of Willian and Eliza FURRY.  Charles M. born 17 Oct. 1832 or 1833 in Harrisonburg Rockingham Co., married COLEY,Martha A. 24 August 1856, Bridgewater, Rchm Co. he died 25 June 1881 Bridgewater probably buried in Greenwood Cementery, because Martha is buried there.  SHe died 23 Feb. 1874.  Her parents COLEY, Alexander and SMITH, Sarah.  Martha born 1841 Augusta Co. Charles M and Martha A. FURRY, had  7 children, one Charles Christian FURRY, born 26 Feb. 1859 Rchm Co., married 25 Dec. 1881 to Margaret V. SHEPP.  She was the daughter of SHEPP, Solomon and DORMAN, Mary Ann.  Margaret born 4 Febv. 1859, Mt. Clinton, Rchm Co. both buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Covington, Va.  They had 4 children, one who was my grandmother Ora Pauline FURRY, born 28 Sept. 1883, in Bridgewater., married  BURGER Frank Elliot. 4 Oct 1902, in Covington, Allg. Co. Va. they came to Glendale, Los Angeles, Calif.

Several ancestors were from or started in Rockingham: Gen George SPEARS, John CARPENTER, George (ZIMMERMAN) CARPENTER.. They all fought in the Rev War. George was killed. George may have been from a place called Keezelltown. Any info would be appreciated.

I am interested in data on my maternal grandmother, Carrie Belle SITES (nee; RITCHIE) from the Spring Creek VA area.  Her mother was a LONG.  Her cousin was the police chief for the City of Harrisonburg for many years.  She taught school in the Spring Creek/Briary Branch area.  Married Issiac Dice SITES and lived in Dayton, VA until her death at 97.  Carrie Belle had two sisters, Wilda and Della.

Evan THOMAS m. Rebecca Green c 1764, I believe PA. He then moved to Frederick Co., and after the war ( he was in the Continental Line Army), he and Rebecca lived in Rockingham. She died 1835, He died c 1836 or 1840. Thank you.
