William Tallman born 25 Mar 1720 Portsmouth, Newport, Rhode Island. and he died in Harrisonburg, Rockingham County, Virginia, on 13 Feb 1791.  He married Anne Lincoln 20 Oct 1740 in Berks County, Pennsylvania.  This family moved from Berks County to Agusta or Rockingham County, Virginia about 1779-1780.  Both William and Anna are buried in Rockingham County, Virginia.  Anne Lincoln brother John Lincoln (called Virginia John Lincoln) is a direct Ancester of Abraham Lincoln the President.

Searching for descendants of Arnold FORD & Mary RUNYON.  They were married in Rockingham County on 28 April 1794.  Arnold was probably a son of Michael FORD.  Surname sometimes spelled FOARD.  Mary was daughter of John RUNYON.  Surname sometimes spelled RUNION or RUNYAN.  This family probably moved to Greenbrier County, VA (WV) before 1800. Probable children are John FORD (ca 1804-ca 1846) & Daniel Ford (ca 1807-1857)    I am, also, researching the Tipton FORD (ca 1774 - bef 1881) family of Brocks Gap, Rockingham County, VA.

I am looking for information about William Ashby Morris, born Mar 1, 1881, died 1931, and Sarah Alice Leigh Morris from Rockingham County, outside Elkton. Sarah's parents were James Leigh, born 1865, and Rebecca Leigh, born 1866. William's parents were John Willis Morris, born Apr 12, 1850, died Dec 9, 1912, and Columbia Elizabeth Baugher Morris, born May 10, 1856, died Feb 1896. John's second wife was Rose F. Merica Morris, born Oct 1867, died Dec 2, 1953. Any information would be appreciated.

LEHMAN, Ludwig d. 16 Mar.1820 in Rockingham, VA.  He was married to Elisabeth UNKNOWN.  Most of the children were b. in Frederick, Maryland but they all died in Rockingham VA and most married in Rockingham VA.  They seemed to arrive in Rockingham approx. 1791 +.I have lots of info. (dates & married names) on those in Rockingham, but I can't find his wife Elisabeth's maiden name.  Perhaps her death notice if she moved to Rockingham with him. Perhaps a census of 1800, if there is one.At least it would show if she was still alive.

Bowers-Seeking information about Delores Marguerite Bowers, born September 10, 1925 in Swope, VA, married to Amos Franklin Curry on October 6, 1946, at the United Brethern Church in Harrisonburg, VA.  Children of the marriage were Linda Lou Curry, born December 6, 1948 in Rockingham Memorial Hospital, Harrisonburg, VA, and Patricia Ann, born July 5, 1947.  It is believed that a sister to Bowers was named Betty. Interested in Bowers' divorce and/or other marriage records, other children, and current whereabouts or death records.

Searching for any information in regard to Reuben G. Hill who would have lived in Rockingham County between 1812 and 1830.  He and his wife Mary (Polly) LEWIS moved to Rockingham from Monroe Co, VA (Now West VA) after 1812.  Around 1830 he moved to Giles Co, VA.  Giles Co court records show that his Rockingham holdings were sold in 1842 when his will was probated.

Samuel NISWANDER  was born 10 Nov 1808 in Virginia, probably Rockingham County.  He married BARBARA BURNER, born 29 March 1815 in Rockingham County, Virginia. Their children all born in Rockingham: ISAAC, who married BARBARA FRANK LYDIA, who married ABRAHAM SWECKER JACOB, who married CATHERINE MILLER JOSEPH, who married MARY SHOWALTER BARBARA ANN,  who married PETER BRENEMAN - my greatgrandparents CATHERINE, who married JOHN ANDES REBECCA, who married CARDEL LOKER then JOHN LINCOLN By 1880 most but not all of them had moved to Iowa.  I am very interested in contacting any descendants of this family.

My 2g grandfather Edward Lee ALLISON was born in VA in 1829 and I am looking for his family. In the 1830 census for Rockingham Co. there was only one ALLISON listed with male children under 5, Robert ALLISON. Does anyone have information on the children of this gentleman? I would appreciate hearing from you even if Edward is not among the children so that I can eliminate the family as a possibility. Thank you and "Good Hunting" to everyone!
