I am doing this for a friend of mine who does not have the internet. Her ancestor is Fayette Cole born 18 Aug. 1817 in Harrisonburg. He married Susan Jane Gentry 21 Nov. 1851. She would like to share information with anyone from the Cole and Gentry lines. Fayette and Susan moved to Kansas and are both buried in Bazine, Kansas. She has pictures of the tombstones

I am searching for the parents of Robert S. Hook who was born in Rockingham Co. VA in 1793. He married Mary Ervine in 1814 in Pendleton Co. VA. Mary was the daughter of Benjamin and Mary Ervine. I believe that Robert went to Highland Co. Va in about 1825. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am also interested in corresponding with any HOOKS from the area, or who share a common bond with my lineage. Thank you.

I am researching the Long line, specifically my 5great grand father Jacob Long who died in Braxton County WV and was reported as being born in Rockingham County VA around 1800. His father was also Jacob Long. Jacob Long Jr. and Jacob Long Sr. show up on the Rockingham Co. Census for 1840. Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you.

Looking for info re RITTER line, father Michael Ritter, Sr., ch: Jacob; Catherine who married 4 Feb 1822 in Rockingham Co to Reuben Matheney; Mary who married on 18 Sept 1816 to Samuel Matheney; Michael Jr.; and Samuel. Need to prove that Layer (Lear) Day was their mother. Also need to prove that Michael Ritter, Sr. father was Jacob Ritter. Any help greatly appreciated. This is an update to my query of Dec. 31, 1997 The year of marriage was changed and I found Margaret and William's father's names. QUERY: Looking for information on my GGGGrandfather, John Sellers father of Margaret Sellers, she was born in Rockingham in 1808. He is the father-in-law of William Maiden also born in Rockingham. William and Margaret were married December 6, 1829 in Rockingham and later moved west with their family to Iowa.

Seeking information about Dr. William Biggs whose obituary says he moved to Rockingham County after graduating from medical school in Cincinnati. That must have been about 1845-6. He married Sarah Goodloe (parents, Rev. Thomas E. Goodloe and Elizabeth Samuel Goodloe) in 1847. She died six months later, presumably in Rockingham County. Don't know where she is buried. He then married Sarah's sister Lucy and they moved to Barbour County, West Virginia. Also wonder how he was introduced to the Goodloes -- were there Goodloe relatives in Rockingham County? Perhaps those relatives had surname of George? Many thanks, Anita

Joseph Hanna died in Rockingham 1789. One of his daughters was Jane Olden, wife of William Oldham who died in Bath Co in 1799. Another daughter was Mary Boon Another daughter was Rosanna Ocheltree She later married Charles Fox Would like to exchange info with others researching these lines.

Looking for Lhamon family in Rockingham county.I found them in 1920 cenus but nowhere else.They might have changed their name from Lemonn or Lemmon between the years 1790-1819 to Lhamon.
