I am seeking any information regarding my missing maternal grandfather, Edison Vernon WILLIAMS, b. 7/14/1887 in either Montevideo or Mcgaheysville, VA. to George W. WILLIAMS and Amanda ROACH. My great aunt told me that his mother died in a house fire and his father remarried. Proof of this I found in a letter sent from Mcgaheysville, VA, dated June 23, 1933 from a Sally WILLIAMS, (age 17) who identified herself as the daughter of Robert Lee Williams, ("your fathers half brother of whom he has probably forgotten"). I found marriage records for: George W. WILLIAMS to Annie ROACH on 4/5/1880 Sally Mae WILLIAMS to William Abraham RICHARDS on 11/10/1934 but could not find any others which might apply.

Searching for information on my GGG Grandfather, Peter Slusser. Born in Virginia - probably Rockingham County in 1790. Served with Captain Grahams Virginia Militia during the War of 1812. According to his son, Samuel's biography, Peter came west to Ohio with his parents shortly thereafter. In 1826, he was married to Mary McFadden, born Nov 1, 1801 in Pennsylvania, in Montgomery County, Ohio. In 1827, they purchased four lots in the village of Charleston (now West Charleston) in Miami County, Ohio. It was here that their first 3 children were born. In 1833, Peter and Mary purchased an 80 acre farm in Johnson Township, Champaign County, Ohio. Peter died June 13, 1851 and is buried in Leatherwood Graveyard, Miami County, Ohio. Mary remained on the farm until her youngest was grown and then returned to her brother's farm in Montgomery County where she died June 27, 1891 - 40 years after her husband. Children of Peter Slusser and Mary were David William, Samuel M., Charlotte, and Mary Ellen.

Timothy Sullivan was born in Co. Kerry, Ireland about 1823 or 1824.He married Ella Foley and lived in Boardway, Rockingham County, Va. He died there in 1906. His children Hannah, Robert, John L.,James,Daniel, Patrick, and Edward moved to Westmoreland Co., Pa. Who were Timothy and Ella's parents? Did Timothy have siblings? What became of the family in Pa?

Zachariah Lee was born on 25th Dec. 1812. In 1850 he married Mary (Maria) Schaeffer. They lived in Rockingham and died in Rockingham Co., Va. Where was Zachariah born? Who were his parents? Did he have siblings?

George Long married Sally Stumbo (Stumbach) in Rockingham County on 29th Aug., 1812. Sally's father was Frederick and her mother Margaret. I would like to know the parents and siblings of George and the siblings of Sally. George and Sally had children, Peter, Jacob, Lidia, Sally, Mary Elizabeth and Martin. Jacob is my gg grandfather. He married Mariah Argenbright.They were all German.

Edward James Sullivan was born in Ireland in 1826. He married Catharine Lyons in Ireland and they came to U. S. in 1850. They settled in Harrisonburg, Va. by 1860.Would like to know where is Ireland they came from and who they parents were. Also any siblings of Catharine. Edward had sisters Hannah who married Eben Keeler and then Charles Schu and lived in D.C. Winifred married John Sheehy and they lived in D.C. and then Harrisonburg, Va. E. J.'s son James married Hannah Margaret Price.

DESCHLER, Gottlieb Abraham. Late 1700's. He was a Lutheran pastor who ministered to numerous churches in Rockingham, VA. Also listed as Abraham Gottlieb. May have been a German immigrant.
