Monroe Getz was born May 19, 1925 in Moore Stoore, VA to Willard Everette and Carrie
Elizabeth Getz. Private (first class) Getz entered the service on September 21, 1943
and received basic training at Camp Blanding, Florida. He served with the U.S. Army,
5th Army, 34th Division, 133rd Infantry (Red Bull Division). Owen was killed in
action in Italy on September 16, 1944. He was buried November 22, 1944 at Arlington
National Cemetery. |
