Remember to check different spellings of names as they were often spelled in different ways. The dates are the date that the deed was written, not the date that it was recorded in court. Lastly, original records should be referred to. Often, peoples names show up as witnesses or in describing where a piece of property was located, and these names would not show up in the index.
