Executed 01 Mar 1831

I James Gibson of the County of Russell & Satate of Virginia do hereby make this as and for my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say:

1st, I desire that all my personal estate be sold immediately after my decease and all my just debts paid out of the monies arising therefrom.

2nd, After the payments of my debts I give and bequeath the residue that may be left after the payments of my debts except what may be disposed of hereafter to my four daughters, Peggy Hendricks, Elizabeth McKee, Jinney Allen, Lada L____, and the children of my daughter Polly Hendricks, to have equal shares with the above named legatee to be equally divided between them.

3rd, I give and bequeath to my sons, Andrew Gibson, Isaac Gibson & to the heirs of John Gibson, and to my daughter Anna Murphy the sum of twentyfive cents each, they the said Andrew Gibson, Isaac Gibson, & the heirs of John Gibson & Anna Murphy having received this share heretofore.

4th, Lastly I do hereby constitute & appoint my friend John Alexander executor of this my last wil and testament hereby revoking all other former wills or testaments by me heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the 30th day of August 1825.

Virginia:
At a Court held for Russell County the 1st day of March 1831. This instrument of writing was exhibited in court as and for the last will and testament of Jmaes Gibson deceased and proven by the oaths of Francis Browning Sen. and Jesse Browning, two of the subscribing witnesses thereto, and ordered to be recorded, and on the motion of John Alexander executor therein named who made oath and together with John Ervin, and Samuel E. Gilmore his securities entered into and acknowledged a bond in the amount of $600.00 conditioned as the law directs, certificate is granted the said John Alexander for obtaining probate of the said will in due form.
