The last will and testament of Lewis Horton of Russell county and State of Virginia.
I Lewis Horton considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being of sound mind and memory, do make this last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say)—First, I give and bequeath to my son Daniel Horton one dollar in addition to the lands and property I have already given to him, I will and bequeath unto my son John Horton the sum of one dollar in addition to the lands and property I have already given him. I give and bequeath to my daughter Frankey Davis one hundred dollars in addition to what I have already given her. I give and bequeath to my son James Horton one dollar in addition to the lands and property I have already given him. I give and bequeath to the heirs of my son Lewis Horton, deceased, one dollar in addition to the amount of property I have already given them. I give and bequeath to the heirs of my daughter Louisa Davis one dollar in addition to ______________. I give and bequeath to ____[several lines obscured]____________. I give and bequeath to my son Lilbern H. Horton the sum of one dollar in addition to the lands and property I have already given him. I give and bequeath the farm on which I now live and all of my personal property remaining after the payment of my debts funeral expenses and the above legacy are paid to my beloved wife Rutha Horton during her natural life and at her death unto my son Zachary T. Horton forever. I hereby appoint my wife Rutha Horton sole Executrix of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills made by me. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal.
