  • A new history of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church has been added. There are photographs there, as well. Check for your family members in the 1909 revival photo.

  • Ground was broken for the Captain John Smith Ferry Project on Sunday, 5 April 2009. The committee for restoration of the deckhouse of the historic ferry presents their REPORT with pictures!

  • Two new research reports by Forrest D. King, CG have been added. One is a fifty-page report on Descendants of Thomas Pittman of Surry, who was kin to many Surry families. The second is his compilation of Surry County Tax Payers from 1668 through 1703. Thanks for both to Forrest King!

  • New addition to the Cemeteries pages for Old Cabin Point Cemetery near Laurel Springs Road. In addition, we have a new page of photos of the Old Episcopal Rectory ruin at Cabin Point. Thanks for both to The Rev. William B. Taylor, Jr.!

  • New page with Gordon "Bo" Bohannan's family photographs of Pleasant Point, where he spent childhood summers. There are also links to his essays on life in Surry during his childhood years. Thank you, Bo, for sharing with us!
