Seek information on John CLARKE, a tailor, who married Mary CRUMBAUGH in Frankfort, KY on 28 Feb. 1833. The 1850 federal census of Franklin Co., KY says John CLARKE was born in Virginia and was age 40 (making his birthdate about 1810). Another record indicates he may have been born about 1817. Also seek information on a James N. CLARKE who appeared in the Franklin Co., KY census in 1830 (possibly a brother). Also seek information on a Waller CLARKE and his wife Harriet (another possible relative) - Waller died in Franklin Co., KY ca 1830-32. Because a Mathew CLARKE, Sr. (another possible relative) appeared in Franklin Co., KY as a Revolutionary War veteran originally from Spotsylvania County, VA I suspect my John may have been from that county. I would appreciate any information that anyone may have on this family. I am willing to share the information I have.

During the decade of the 1720s, James & Sarah ATKINS owned real estate in St. Geo. Par., Spts. Co., by Nassaponnax Run. This property was bought and sold during the decade. Where they came from and where they went is unknown at present. In March, 1753, John ATKINS and Susannah BROCKMAN, both of Orange County, were married. Query: Were James and Sarah ATKINS the parents of John ATKINS?

I am searching for information on WASHBURN (WASHBORNE, WASHBOURNE, etc.) in Accomac Co. during the 1600s and early 1700s. So far, I have uncovered the following through the Univ. of VA archives:

I would like to find as much information as possible to understand the relationships between these people, and to find traces of as many Washburns as possible in VA during these years. My target is to find the father of a John Washburn, who died in Culpeper Co. in 1779. He is the supposed father of a Benjamin Washburn who was born in Culpeper Co. and died in Shelby Co., KY, and who is my ancestor. A Benjamin Washburn was given a land grant in Washington Co. in 1798. Thanks for any insight you can give.
