Last Will and Testament of Ann Heislop

In the name of God, Amen.

I Ann Heislop of Spotsylvania County of State of Virginia, being of 
sound and perfect mind and memory, do make this my last Will and 
Testament in manner and form following, to wit.

First, I give and bequeath to my Son Robert Heislop, and my Grandson 
Isham Chisholm, One hundred Dollars each, to be paid out of my estate, 
as soon as my Executor can collect it.

Second, I give to my daughter Sarah Heislop and to my Son John Heislop 
and their heirs forever, all the balance of my estates, both real and 
personal of every name and description whatever, to be equally divided 
between them, with this reservation, That the above mentioned remaining 
part of my estate, continues in the hands of possession of my daughter 
Sarah Heislop so long as my Son John lives single, for his Support, and 
should be marry it is my wish, that he may receive his share to himself 
to dispose of it as he may see cause, and should either my daughter 
Sarah or Son John die before they marry, the surviving one to possess 
the whole not only of what I now possess, but all my Interest in 
Father's estate, also my brother Robert, and Sister Elizabeth's estate, 
and all that I may have any right to claim of all and every other person 
and persons whatsoever.  And ~

Lastly, I appoint my friend Henry Beazley, and my daughter Sarah 
Heislop, Executor & Executrix of this my last Will, hereby revoking all 
wills heretofore by me made.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this Twelfth day 
of October 1823.

I Ann Heislop do make this codicil to this my last will & testament ~ 
viz ~

That part of the within will in which I give to my son Robert Heislop & 
my grandson Isham Chisholm each one hundred dollars, I do hereby revoke, 
and it is now my wish and desire that the said two hundred dollars shall 
be divided as I have directed the balance of my estate to be divided, & 
with the same reservation which is named in the within will ~

Given under my hand and seal this 20th day of April 1826.

At a Court held for Spotsylvania County the 2nd day of November 1829
The last will and testament of Ann Heslop deceased was proved by the 
oaths of Samuel Alsop one of the witnesses thereto and the codicil 
annexed was proved by the oaths of Gabriel Long, Joseph Alsop and Samuel 
Alsop witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.  And on the motion 
of Sarah Heslop the Executrix therein named who made oath thereto and 
together with James Heslop Samuel Alsop and John Heslop her securities 
entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $1500 conditioned 
as the law directs Certificate is granted her for obtaining a probate of 
said will in due form.
