The death of A.J. Nash, one of the best known and
highly respected citizens of the Bluestone section, died at the Bluefield
sanitarium last week, after a short illness. Mr. Nash was a son of the
late John T. and Elizabeth Shanmore Nash and was about 78 years of age. He
had spent all his life in the Bluestone valley, where he married many years ago,
Miss Naomi Summers, daughter of the late William and Martha Bane Summers, of
Bluestone. Mr. Nash raised a large family of children, serveral of whom
survive, along with a host of grand children. He also leaves 3 brothers
and 2 sisters. He was buried in the Shannon Cemetery near the home.
A large concourse of people attended the funeral and burial.
