FAMILY TREE MAKER CDs

Note: Family Tree Maker software is required to view these FTM CDs.
Or use Family Tree Viewer CD (which is available)
To use the disc, first insert the disc and open your family Tree Maker file that you are working on.
Then you will see 3 icons in the upper-right of the screen.
Click on the one with the green circles, and the contents of the CD should appear.
Then you can select from either the contents–index–page items at the right side of the page.
Or click on the “Search Expert” icon at the upper right of the screen.
That will open the disc to the name that is on your own page, that you want information on.

ANCESTRY.COM CDs

Here is information for using Ancestry CDs:
To *install*: Insert disc. Click *start* and choose *run*. Type *D:\setup *and click* OK. Or or if D: is not the letter for your CD-ROM drive, type substitute letter.
Follow on-screen prompts. Files are installed in C:\Program Files\Ancestry Products\Ancestry View.
Once installed, Ancestry View icon should appear on desktop, for future use to open.
These discs use either Ancestry View or Ancestry View 2.0.
The procedure is slightly different for each of them.
      Ancestry View CDs are: A3,4,5,6,7,10,11.
      Ancestry View 2.0 CDs are: A1,2,8,9,12,13,14,15.
In all cases, the program must be installed again for each disc (using Start, Run, etc.)
Once installed, open by clicking on icon for Ancestry View or Ancestry View 2.0.
If you cannot find the icon, go to Start - Programs - Ancestry.com products - Ancestry View or Ancestry View 2.0.

GRS CDs

These are DOS discs. Click here for instructions for installing and using the GRS-DOS program. Other discs with GRS labels that are not DOS and can be used with FTM are listed with the FTM CDs.
