Will of William GREENWAY

I, William GREENWAY of the County of Washington in the State of Virginia being sick in body but of disposing mind and memory do make this my last will and testament for the disposal of my worldly estate in manner and form following. I direct that all my full debts be punctually paid within a reasonable time after my decease. I give and bequeath to William GREENWAY, son to my brother James, one lot in a plan of lots laid off by Robert CRAIG Jr. near the Town of Abingdon to him and his heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my niece Polly GREENWAY, daughter of my brother John GREENWAY, my half lot on the main street in the Town of Abingdon with all its appurtances to her and her heirs forever. To my niece Sarah GREENWAY daughter of the said John, I give and bequeath my improved lot in the Town of Abingdon on the back street with all its appurtances to her and her heirs forever. To my nephew Edward GREENWAY son of the said John, I give and bequeath all that part of my lot o!
n the north side of the back street and adjoining the lots now owned by Peter HEMELZER, to him and his heirs forever. To my nephew John GREENWAY, son of the said John, my brother, I give and bequeath my lot o n the south side of the back street in Abingdon adjoining the lot purchased by John McCLELLAN of the Reasons Charles CUMMINGS (it being unimproved) to him and his heirs forever. To my nephew James GREENWAY son of my said brother John, I give and bequeath one lot in the Town of Abingdon adjoining Jacob HADLEY's well, also one other lot lying on the south side of the back street in Abingdon and opposite ways an alley to the lot whereon the _____ of William Hoim HANDETH to him the said James and his heirs forever. All the residue of my estate ______I do give and bequeath unto my brother John GREENWAY wherein I do hereby constitute and appoint executor of this my last will and testament. Signed, sealed, published and pronounced by the said William GREENWAY as his last will and testament in our presence who subscribe our names in his presence and at his request.

At a district court continued and held at Washington Courthouse on the 7th day of May 1805. The last will and testament of William GREENWAY dec'd was exhibited in court and proved by the oaths of Andrew RUSSELL and Benjamin LONGLEY the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.
