Champ Hamblen/Hamblin/Hamlin was born in Washington Co, around 1779, was captured by Indians as a young boy, carried to near Canada/Detroit, freed when he was about 18, and made his way back to Lee Co. He married in 1802 a Lavina Noble (or Fisher) who was born in NC around 1784. I would like to know anything available about this Lavina - was she a relative (maybe niece) of Daniel Boone, as family lore states? Supposedly her mother lived with her and Champ in the old Hamblen house near the Cedars and the Wesley's Chapel Church. Thanks for any information found.

I have just found information indicating in or around 1850 a family surname in your county. I am very interested in anything on the Wachtel or Waughtel surname. And any period of time. I am trying to find the parents of my great great great grandfather Frederick Waughtel. He was in the 1810 Lee County census and in the 1820 Washington County census. Have seen a listing for a Solomon in Russell County indicating he had been born in Tennesee, and was hoping there might be a connection between these two persons. Desire any information on this surname. Thank you.
