Washington County, VA   Deed Book #27, Page 413
I John Wood (Sr) of the county of Washington State of Va. did some years
ago make a deed of gift to my two Grand sons, Harvey and Thomas Woods they
agreeing to support me and there mother as long as we lived and also there
unmarried sisters as long as they remained single and the consideration
having entirely failed by the death of Harvey and Thomas having left home
some 5 or 6 years and has never complied with any of the conditions of the
said deed of gift. I concider it the deed a failure on his part and,
Wishing to compensate those who has taking care of me I therefore I give to
my grand daughter Mary Jane Wood my plantation on which I now live to have
and to hold and to dispose off as she thinks proper and all my other
affects with the following condition she is to support me and her mother as
long as we live and if she fails to give us our support retain the wright
to rent out the land to support me and her mother as long as we live. I

MY NOTE:
We have not found a connection between this John Wood and our John Wood who
married Mary Musick (my ggg grandparents), who were parents of William Wood
who married Martha Willis (my gg grandparents). We call him Naomi's John to
tell him from our John Wood. Naomi's husband was Woodson Wood who died
before John made his will. The two Wood families always lived in same area,
feel there is some connection. The John's could not be father and son tho,
not enough age difference.
