Original survey for John BRALLEY, Sr. 379
acres on Lead Mine Mill Creak, north of Austinville. He settled
the land in 1769. This survey wasn't done until 1774. The actual
land grant wasn't issued by the government at Richmond until 1816,
after BRALLEY's wife Mary had died and the two surviving sons
couldn't get a clear title to the land. Obtained from the Virginia
State Archives and Library. Russ
